Q: How much power does this tv use?
A: Typically the TV uses 40W while on and less than 1 watt while in standby. Obviously this can very slightly due to different settings.
A: It can be wall mounted and is very light.
A: Bought this model last march at my local best buy, Installed in my motorhome with direct 12v connection via cig lighter cord. It has functioned incredibly well for me even at lower voltages, Occasionally the audio will go out as battery levels dip below 10.5v but returns to normal when voltage is restored. digital reception of the tuner is exceptional, my previous digital converter tuned in 27 channels, this TV easily tuned in 35 channels for my area (I was thrilled as I don't have satellite) This unit uses very little power as I have had many evenings or days or 4-6+ hours operation without interuption but this will certainly depend on your batteries and power usage from other systems (ie, lights, pumps etc) I understand using the set in this manner most likely voids your warranty but at this price point it was/is an acceptable risk. Happy Boondocker here :-)
Q: can I use this tv as Monitor for my PC ?
A: You can use this as a monitor as long as your PC has an HDMI output.
Q: when using as a pc monitor, how does the image compare?
A: One thing I love about going for 1080p over 720p is more pixels. I hooked up my laptop and pixels aren't an issue what so ever. Although, I am sitting farther than 5 feet away. When I go up close (2-3ft) to check text on the screen, it still isn't pixelated. Cant ever go wrong with 1080p.
Q: what makes it a smart tv? is netflix an app on it?
A: It is not a smart tv.
Q: has anyone had issues with the digital tuner?
A: We've had no problems with the tuner.
Q: Is this TV HDMI-CEC Compatible?
A: Yes, this TV is CEC compatible. All brands have a different name for CEC and Insignia calls theirs INLINK, which is what you would need to look for in the menus. Keep in mind that CEC is not a standardized technology so you will have to test the devices and see which functions will work.
