Q: does this unit play music from a usb flash drive, and how many cd,s does it hold
A: Yes you can play "compatible" usb drives through this unit. You can also record onto a usb drive, erase the usb drive, format the usb drive. I record from the cd, radio, Bluetooth, and a turntable that I have connected through the RCA inputs. The unit has room for 1 cd at a time. But you could hook up an external cd unit as long as it meets the RCA specifications of the stereo. The manual for my "CM4530" stereo states the following specs: Aux In: 2.0 Vrms (1 kHz, 0 dB), 75 Ohm, RCA jack (L,R) x 1
Q: Is the Apple iphone a "compatible device" with the bluetooth tech?
A: yes, you can play CDs and stream Pandora with the iphone using this model.
Q: can I play music directly from my iphone with this unit ?
A: You can via Bluetooth. The USB input on the unit is designed for thumb drives only. It will report a USB error followed by "No USB" on the display if you plug your iPhone/iPod into the USB port. Hope this helps! Cheers, C
Q: can an iPod be played with this system
A: Yes, there's an auxilary cord outlet.
A: You can connect a turntable through the AUX input but you will most likely need to run it through a turntable preamp first, otherwise the input level will be too low. They start at around $20 and are available online and at many audio retailers. They are also referred to as a "phono preamp." They are usually a little powered box about the size of a deck of cards. Basically you plug the turntable into the phono preamp and the output of that into the AUX input.
A: It does not run on batteries. It has a standard AC cord hardwired to the CD Player/receiver/amplifier.
Q: How to use MP3 players with this system?
A: You would need a 3.5mm stereo plug to Red/White RCA plug adapter cable. The Red/White end connect to the Aux in on the stereo, the 3.5mm stereo end plugs into the earphone jack on your MP3 player.
Q: Does the "random" feature work when playing music from a USB memory stick via the USB port?
A: No, random only works with standard CDs. It does not work with USB drives or .MP3 CDs. Major flaw in my opinion.
