Q: I have an HP laptop without a CD driver. It has a touch pad for control. How do I install or use a mouse instead of touch pad?

A: Most mice (mouses?) don't require a cd to install if you are using Window 7 or later. Just plug the mouse in and let the windows software do its own thing. If you want a gaming mouse with a lot of extra buttons, you may need to obtain a portable CD drive which plugs into a USB outlet. I recommend a CD read/write so you can burn CDs as well. If your touchpad gives you problems with accidental touches, you can disable it in the device manager. go to My Computer then System Properties then Device Manager. enjoy

A: No scrolling ticks unless you roll up very quickly, but a noise when you click. I never noticed it though. It's about the same as my keyboard when I type.

Perfect For Me With Big Basketball Hands

Insignia -Solid Performance value for the $$
This mouse, although it has a cord, works as advertised and does what it should. For the money this is a solid buy and good value. I use it every day and it works, unlike a lot of other items I have that are more expensive.

great bargain wired mouse
I wanted a cheap but good wired mouse, and when this came up as a Deal of the Day for only $5 I snapped it up. It was a good deal--very inexpensive but works quite well. I like that it's a more standard sized mouse versus the smaller sized ones. This one feels more solid to the touch when in use, and I like that I don't have to constantly remind the kids or husband to turn it off (our other mice are wireless ones). While we're not constantly going through batteries with our wireless mice, it's just nice not to have to replace batteries and we've found that this wired mouse actually works better than our various wireless ones--the tracking and movement when in use is crisper, faster, and more in real time.
