Great design, good value
Posted by: Tom99999 from: San Antonio, TX on
I bought a pair of these to carry in my laptop bag. I make a lot of presentations (powerpoint) and use video with sound. These speakers clip together magnetically, and together with the leads fit nicely into a little drawstring bag. The leads have a separate compartment in the bag. Today I held a lunch meeting, and we had the use of a big-screen TV but not the room's audio. These speakers came to the rescue, and the presenter was impressed - he is going to put them on his Christmas list. The design is well thought out, and would be great for a road warrior.

My Asus laptop has the most disappointing sound for a high-end laptop. These speakers really improve the sound quality and volume. They are very convenient since they are USB powered, no additional AC plug needed. Higher volume levels do have some distortion to them, but I didn't buy these to "rock out", just wanted to actually be able to hear music and movies clearly without having to use earbuds. Good deal for the money, would recommend and buy again.

Best bang for your buck

My mother bought these because her laptop speakers were too quiet. She likes to watch old shows on netflix so she doesnt need anything fancy. I spotted these and said let's take the gamble. I tested them on Spotify. The music quality was surreal given the price and size of the speakers. The volume goes louder than I will ever need and is easily powered by a USB port in the computer (which I can always convert with a wall. The magnetic hold for storage makes the speakers easy to store. I would buy these again 100 times because it really was fantastic for what we needed. This is coming from a real audiophile who doesn't buy cheap.
I seriously recommend these speakers to anyone who wants a cheap pair of casual speakers.

Very low volume!!!

I purchased these speakers to plug into my Samsung laptop to listen to some business audio presentations. The sound on my laptop was not loud enough, so I wanted an external pair of speakers to boost the audio capability. These speakers are not even as loud as my built in speakers! There is no additional volume control on the speakers either.
Nice design, but inadequate! Returning back to Best Buy!!!

Good product for price

Purchased these for use in presentations to a group of up to 60 people. The sound is sufficient to replace internal laptop speakers. My only real complaint is that there is no built-in stand to prop the speakers up, so you have to find another place for them to lean. Overall, for the quality, size, and price tag of less than $15, we are happy with the purchase.

Are you kidding me!

Like the title says, "are you kidding me"! I'm floored by the sound that's coming out of such an inexpensive item. I have them plugged into my 10 in. tablet right now and the sound is great. I use my tablet to listen to music and talk radio as where I live it's very hard to pick up any radio signals and the speaker in the tablet was okay but I wanted something with some more power and these little guys are perfect. I highly recommend them if you are on a budget. You won't be sorry.

I bought these speakers for travel but once I heard the sound quality I have been using them at home on my laptop. I just bought a second set for my son.. We both love them.

Great portable speakers!
Posted by: Tamlee from: Bronx, NY on
The sound is surprisingly good on these small speakers. I have a netbook, and the sound, when watching tv shows and movies, is quite low and sometimes tinny. The speakers really rounded out the sound, and the sound is very clear. The cords also detach from the back of the speakers, and the speakers bind to each other magnetically from the fronts They come with a cloth drawstring bag, so they are easy to store and pack for traveling. Overall an excellent buy for the price.

So I bought this last year and after a couple months one of the speakers stopped working and I threw it out. Now I figure that might have been a fluke so about two months ago I bought another. Wouldn't you one of the speakers stopped working again so soon after buying it.
Buy something else.

WORST SPEAKERS EVER!
Posted by: ISayWhatIsRealYo from: Irvine, CA on
My last pair of insignia speakers lasted me a few years. I decided to get new ones when one of them gave out. Let me start by saying that I'm not an expert with speakers, I don't listen to music very loud, and I like to keep cables out of the way so I don't trip over them. I have had these speakers for less than a month, about two weeks. I was so excited because they look nice and seem easy to carry wherever. I was right, but what I find really annoying is the way they get connected. So it's this USB with three wires, one that goes into the headphone slot, and then the other two directly to the speakers. The cable is really short so I have to have my speakers RIGHT next to my laptop. All the USB slots on my laptop are to the left, so all the cables look slopppy. That's not the worst part, though. I bought them two weeks ago and one of them already stopped working...
