Warning this product does not work well Posted by: from: Brea, CA on So this is why I love BEST BUY. I had seen this product online thinking it would be a great option to use with my home theater projector and get rid of the hdmi cable. Well after setting this up, I got it to work and everything was fine. I turned off the unit for the night and the next day started it back it up. The transmitter wasn't able to find the receiver. I had direct line of sight and it was literally 10 feet away from each other. I tried it again over and over, went through the instructions and troubleshooting tips from the manufacturer but it didn't work. I am very experienced in home electronics gear so since I wasn't able to get this to work, I would caution anyone who wants to try it. Luckily, Best Buy has a great return policy and they took it back, no questions asked! 5 stars for Best Buy. One Star for this product.

Works Great Posted by: from: Atlanta Ga on I purchased this because it would be very hard to run an HDMI cord from the control room (surround sound-cable box etc) to where we have a Smart TV above the fireplace. It was VERY easy to install. Signal is great on cable 1080 and 3d signal. I have the base unit behind a wall out of site and it works fine. We have the cable box and Blu-ray as the 2 HDMI "in". I am not taking advantage of the 3rd port where you can run a TV right off the base unit which is another nice feature. The only issue I have with the unit is it loses its signal when we shut off our Smart TV. (even if the cable box is still transmitting) If you have a smart TV you have to turn the unit back on until the boxes resignal. Its kind of a pain to do each time you want to watch TV. (std flat screen no issue with above just leave cable box on)

Minimalistic Posted by: from: on This a great solution to bulky media components and countless wires. I can't believe this isn't a standard in home media at this point. I was skeptical at first especial in terms of the quality of the picture it would transmit but overall I am extremely pleased with its performance. Although, more ports would be nice which is a option (of course at almost twice the price). I haven't had any disconnection issue that weren't easily resolved by a simple power cycle. However you do need to be mindful of where you place the transmitter and receiver, you may receive interference from the tv itself if place to close or behind. I use mine for an apple TV and PS4 and haven't notice any issues with either. Since it is wireless though its prone to not always peak performance much like wifi. Which brings me to the router issue. While I did have issues with my router and it battling against each other it was resolved by moving the transmitter and router to difference locations. Only thing I would suggest is if you are looking to use more than two HDMI devices is to consider the 5x2 matrix for the extra money.

Fantastic product Posted by: from: on I moved into an apartment that only had TV outlets placed high on the walls. Landlord didn't want to have TVs mounted for fear of damaging the drywall. So why place them there in the first place? Anyway, I bought this and it solved the problem. In 10 minutes I was watching my TV, in its stand, on the floor. From what I can tell, no loss of audio or video quality. Couldn't be happier with this purchase.

Great When it Worked Posted by: from: Lindenwold, NJ on We bought it just before we moved into our house. I tested it with the tv it was go go with and with our cable box to make sure that it would work. it worked alright, but I should have known it wouldn't work when I was getting a lot of breakup on the tv from maybe 25 ft away and one other room in between. I gave it the benefit of the doubt, and tried it at the house. It seemed to work fine during the first few days. We had a few flash outs over the course of our first week in the house, I figured it to be wireless interference do to it looking like it was switching channels. Flash forward to this weekend, Saturday morning we were watching a movie. Within the 2 hours of the movie, it blanked out over 50 times. I unplugged it and gave it about 30 min to cool down, to still have the same problem happen again. I swung it back to best buy and grabbed the actiontec wireless HDMI kit. Its about $25 less, and works a lot better.

Great Product Posted by: from: Mooresville, NC on I had purchased a new 65" HD 35 Panasonic Plasma along with a new Pioneer VSX52 receiver with the Mirage speakers and 2 Subs. AFter hooking up, everything worked except the 3D picture from my new Blue Ray 3D DVR. After finding out that the HDMI cable installed in our new house 2 years ago wasn't the good quality needed for the 3D signal.. To avoiid having to rip out the old HDMI cable and install the new in the wall, I decided to get the IOGear wireless receiver. Other than having to download the laterst software for both the TV and DVR for the 3D to work, this receiver works like a charm, Clear picutre and simple to hook up. I'm hooked on 3D movies

Works perfect, replaced a competitor product Posted by: from: on I initially picked up the Actiontec MyWirelessTV2 transmitter, but was very disappointed with it since I wasn't able to get it to transmit sound. After reading some other reviews, I returned the Actiontec and picked up this Iogear product instead. Plugged it in and it worked flawlessly right out of the box. Very happy with it, no issues, transmitting great 1080p signal with sound. Highly recommended if you don't have a way to run a physical cable somewhere.

Mostly pretty good Posted by: from: on This product does what I needed — allows me to get cable wires out of my living room by moving things to the basement and sending HDMI signals wirelessly through the floor of a 91-year-old house. I notice no lagtime other than being a bit slow to fire up. The only issue I have is sometimes when everything starts there is no audio, only video. I then have to restart the transmitter (but not my TV or cable box), which is a bit of a pain.

Use the included USB Power Supply. Posted by: from: on I bought this at Best Buy for their better return policy. I almost had to return it. I finally narrowed down where the problem was. I have a Dish Super Joey that goes into the transmitter. I have about 10' of hall and then a right turn into an open 10' room followed by a left turn of about 6' against the wall where the receiver sits. The receiver goes into a Sony sound bar and from there to a Vizio TV via HDMI (ARC). At first for a nice clean wiring, I used the included USB cable to power the receiver from the TV. It worked some of the time. Then I wanted to move the receiver, so I used a different USB power supply. That made things much worse. I replaced that with a 1.5 Amp USB supply and that improved things again. After 3 days, I decided that it just wasn't stable enough. Then it hit me! The box has a USB power supply in it that is an ugly wall wort. Maybe I should actually use it! I plugged it in and within 10-20 seconds it was in sync and playing on the TV. It continues to sync quickly after turning the TV off and on. The moral of this story is that the power going to the receiver MUST have enough amps to not only power the receiver, but to make it work right.
