Awesome no fees
Posted by: JCR918 from: Tulsa Oklahoma on
I have been an iSmart customer since they first got started. It started off a bumpy ride but it greatly improved with time. There is ZERO fees and I have found some pretty cool useful things to do with my extra sensors.
i was able to put one in my mail box now every time my mail man delivers the mail I get push notifications. Besides some of the really cool stuff you can do with the system it's a great home protection device. You can keep a eye on your home while being away.
The only complaints I have are the lack of new devices. The system could really use some new add ons. It would be nice to finally see a outdoor weatherproof security camera with a external IR so it don't refelct into the camera. Hopefully we will see some new add ons. Since the system has been out the only new add ons to hit the market has been the smart plug and the upgraded camera.
Over all I have been very happy with iSmart. If you ever have a problem they get to helping you pretty fast.

Good product & User Friendly
Posted by: Wendy from: on
So far so good! I was attracted because there's no monthly fees and contracts. It took only few minutes to set up. I tested the alarm by opened the door sensors and motion sensor, and got phone call and notifications instantly. It is really convenience that I can remotely check and control my home so I don't have to worry if I forget to arm my home. I like the feature of door chime so I can get noticed if someone open the door. Great self monitored system!

Best Budget Alarm
Posted by: rynshz from: on
Great Alarm system. Comes with the iSmart Alarm Cube which is the brains of the alarm system, a key fob type remote to arm, disarm, home and panic, a motion sensor, and 3 contact sensors for doors and windows. I purchased the iCamera Keep along with this alarm for even more functionality, but it is not needed.
The iSmart Alarm has an app that is good for both Android and Apple phones. It can alert you when your alarm is going off, when a door or window is opened and even which door or window it was, and logs whenever a door or window is opened as well.
All contact sensors, motion detectors and the remote key fob run on batteries and are very easy to install. The contact sensors work pretty far away as well, I would say in my case at least 40 feet away.
My only drawbacks are that they do not provide enough sensors for most houses or apartments many doors, windows and other openings. That being said, they do sell additional contact sensors for another cost. Another drawback is the alarm is not loud enough once it goes off. It is loud, but not what you think a holme alarm loudness should be.
Overall this is a great budget alarm and can be moved from apartment to apartment if you ever move.

Everyone needs this for their property!
Posted by: DandA from: on
Setup was a breeze, the only thing i would change is when you start adding devices, do them one at a time, that way you can name them as you move along (like front door, back door, etc...) Notifications come straight to your phone, email, and by text! This has only been implemented for about a month now and have had no false alarms. The range is great too, I put one on the shed way outside and it communicates back to the cube with no problem! the motion detector has good range of about 20foot, wish this was a little longer but if you strategically place it you wont have a problem. Batteries are easy to get too, though i havent had a reason to change them since they are all still showing full battery. I would highly recommend this to everyone that is looking for security of their property! You can also add ismartalarm cameras to this and see them through the same app. I have another camera system that wont communicate through this but hopefully one day they will allow different systems to integrate together. Adding others to have access to this system helps as well if you have frequent trustworthy guests they just add the app and scan your join code from your phone, and they can arm and disarm the system but they wont have access to change any of the notifications or alarm settings.

Good solution, easy to use and no monthly fee
Posted by: KS1997 from: Wichita, Kansas on
I bought this system and initially just wanted to play with it. I found it is very
easy to install and is very user friendly. I replaced my traditional security system with it and do not need to pay the monthly fee any more.
I like this system.

Convenient and affordable, loving it!

I've been looking for an alternative to replace my existing alarm system that I've been paying monthly for. So far this has been great. Getting everything up took me around 20 minutes. The main thing I like about it is the app, makes it all very convenient, I can check and set it from anywhere I want. If I forget to set the alarm after I'm out, I can just pull out my phone. I also get notifications when my doors open and close which is nice. These features and the lack of fees make it easy to recommend over any traditional alarm system.
I'm thinking of buying additional contact sensors for my other doors and windows, one caveat is this package doesn't come with enough.

Perfect for sneaky roommates
Posted by: Maximillion from: on
My parents got this for me after sophomore year (this year) in college (Go Oregon State!). I'm moving out of the dorms, and moving into a house with a bunch of people (3 guys, 1 girl, and me). I don't like people touching my stuff, and even though I know most of the people moving in with me, I'm worried. I set it up at my folks house, and it's easy! They let me set it up (they have 1 too) so they could help, but I didn't need it. It's easy. The siren is LOUD! I can definitely scare people out my room (or at least now if someone is sneaking in while I'm in another part of the house). It took me like 6 minutes to set it, I just plugged it into my dad's junky router (never realized how much I appreciate dorm internet speed) and used my Samsung S4 and followed the easy instructions.
I can change the countdowns and siren volume and other stuff, so I can play with it and get it exactly how I want it. I can make it go off immediately or have it wait and do a countdown (so if I forget to disarm it I have time).
Next I'll probably get the iCamera KEEP (that's the camera they sell that I can control and pan-tilt and record video) and a Smart Switch to control lights or something. Maybe I'll get an aquarium I can control with it or something.
Definitely loving this so far, can't wait to catch a roommate trying to take something from my room!

Easy set up and great functionality
Posted by: Landon from: on
This security system seems to have been a great choice. It was simple to set up, and came with enough equipment to get you started. I also purchased two of the smart video cameras, putting one at each doorway. This way I can keep an eye on my house in the country, and not have to worry. The app is pretty intuitive. They seem to be updating it fairly often, which is reassuring, and let me know that there will continue to be advances. I can look around the house on my cameras, controlling them from my phone. It's also neat that you can add more contact sensors, cameras, or even motion detectors. Overall, I am pretty satisfied, and do not regret my purchase.

Works well so far
Posted by: Mark from: on
I'm only using a fraction of the System's capabilities, with just one Contact Sensor and one Remote Tag to monitor the bedroom door of a loved one who sometimes wanders at night. I keep my iPhone next to my bed at night, so I get a text and a call if the door is opened. I don't want loud sirens (so I turned the siren off), and I don't use the motion sensor or a camera. The system was an expensive initial investment for this limited use case, but it works perfectly so far for this purpose, because I don't need and don't have to pay for any monthly monitoring or notification service for the local Police.
Initial setup was relatively easy. The instructions on the web and via the smartphone app are pretty self explanatory. The app works well on my iPhone, but I installed it on my wife's off-brand Android phone and it did not seem to work properly. I don't know if it was the Android device that caused the problem, or trying to control the iSmart Cube with two different devices at the same time. The iSmart Cube kept freezing up, and requiring a reboot. So, I unistalled the app from my wife's phone, and she just uses the Remote Tag to arm and disarm the alarm. She still gets calls and texts on her phone when the system alarms, though, because the app allows me to add up to three (cell) phone numbers to an automatic call list, whether or not the app is installed on those devices.
The system seems to be thoughtfully designed. One feature I like in particular is the optional "doorbell" chime that sounds whenever a door with a Contact Sensor is opened. This means we can monitor the door throughout the day, even when the alarm is turned of, and even if I am not carrying my phone.
