A: Hi Liz, I researched saffiano leather and it seems that some Kate Spade products are made of saffiano leather. I looked at those items and the bottom half of my laptop sleeve appears to look just like the saffiano leather. I would be hardpressed to think that it is plastic. I am not making a claim one way or the other but I will say that it is sharp and does the job of protecting my MacBook Air.
