Experience lush, detailed audio with these Klipsch Reference R-15M bookshelf speakers that feature 5-1/4" copper-spun IMG woofers and 1" aluminum diaphragm-compression tweeters to create a dynamic soundscape.
They sound amazing!

I purchased a pair of these speakers along with an Onkyo receiver to replace my old surround sound-in-box set up in my medium-sized living room. Eventually, I will buy the rest of the speakers from the Klipche's Reference series to achieve the surround sound experience. For now, these bookshelf speakers are excellent on their own. They get very loud and are extremely clear at any volume level. I can't wait to get the center channel, surrounds, and sub to complete the setup.

I love Klipsch!

I purchased these speakers as part of the Black Friday sale for $124.99/pair. I guess I can't agree with the previous reviewer (bugman53). I think they have really good sound. I set mine up on the floor so the bass is decent, but I definitely didn't buy these for the bass. I own a bunch of other Klipsch speakers of the Reference II line and these are almost as good. These speakers have a nice sound with the vocals being in front of everything, which is the way I like to listen to music. I like the "slap you in the face" sound of the Klipsch horns. The tweeters are very clear and I know not everyone likes that sound, but I do. I was leery of the aluminum tweeter in these as the Reference II's have titanium tweeters, but I was not disappointed in the least. I would definitely recommend these speakers. I wouldn't pay $249.99/pair for them, but I could see spending up to $199.99/pair for them.

Good quality speakers for a small room.

I'm using these speakers as a two channel system with sub for my bedroom. I'm powering them with an Emotiva mini-x a-100 amp, Schiit Asgard 2 as a preamp, and my computer into a Schiit Bifrost Uber via USB as the source.
I bought these speakers as a temporary desktop system until I could afford something more exotic and audiophile rated, but I'm considering just sticking with these. The sound is powerful, warm, and accurate with way better dynamics and imaging than I was expecting for the money. I don't find the treble to be harsh or honky. I can listen to these at high volumes for hours with no fatigue. The mids are beautifully full and warm. I have paired them with a cheap Martin Logan MLT-1 subwoofer that gives a much needed boost to the ultra low end.
The only complaint I have is that the binding posts are rather cheap and don't accept banana plugs.

Best front speakers for the bedroom you can buy
Posted by: Tony1970 from: Tucson, AZ on
I have a killer man cave system so I bought a woman cave system for the bedroom for my wife. At the store I auditioned Klipsch vs. Polk, Sony, and some other speaker and Klipsch defeated them all convincingly in musical mortal combat. I have them paired with a Klipsch K-25C Center, Klipsch R-10SW, and a Pioneer VSX $199.00 receiver. The first day they were bright. 3 days later, they are warm and musical. My wife bought 10 Blue Ray movies she wanted to watch but never did in 4 months. She has watched 3 movies in one weekend after I bought this system. These speakers are accurate and can play loud! The Sub handles the low end so they don't need to play low bass. Watched "47 Ronin" and I heard every tingle during the sword fights and the sound during the musical transitions envelope the room and make it sound like I have surround speakers. The copper colored woofers look great also so I kept the grills off. My wife is now happy, that is worth every penny spent!!

Fantastic sound! Warm and Crystal clear
Posted by: Joez1234 from: Little Rock, AR on
When I first hooked up these speakers I thought they sounded a little harsh with a thin vocal . However , this was totally my fault I had the treble set at +4. Once I turned it down to around 0 or neutral the warmth poured back into them I actually settled on +1 for treble +3 bass. These speakers have good strong bass for a 5.25 woofer however I did add a subwoofer and it did fill out the sound. After playing them for around 12 hours for a couple of days the cymbals and treble was very present but was sweet sounding not harsh at all. I have heard things with these speakers I have never heard before. They are crystal clear!!! most importantly warm as well once broken in. Even though these speakers are more efficient than most I have heard klipsch speakers like a strong receiver so don't buy a cheap disposable receiver and expect it to sound good. My best advice while testing at Best Buy remember you are in a huge store so bass is omnidirectional so it will sound weak also most important make sure you have the Best Buy sales person set the treble to around neutral not all the way up. Most places turn the bass and treble all the way up and forget about it and think that sounds best. With some speakers maybe not Klipsch. This has to be one of the best purchases I have ever made. I know they were not on sale but at $249.00 with this sound quality I would have probably paid more. If you find them on sale jump on them don't hesitate great purchase.

Bought these speakers yesterday and couldn't be more happy. Powering them with a 7.2 channel sony receiver that puts out 145w per channel. I know klipsch makes good speakers, so It was between these and some bowers and wilkins that were 550 for the pair. I'm currently just using these two speakers as my home entertainment. I was starting here and will branch out with a center channel next, and upgrade the sub I have. But for now these are amazing. If you're thinking about the soundbar option I would choose these instead. These speakers get really loud, dialogue is clear, and they have amazing bass. For some reason I can't figure out how to get my sub working with my blu ray player. I think it's just too old and the connections are bad. That being said these speakers make the room sound like you have a sub working. Music sounds really good with them, movies and tv are great too. Definitely recommend to anyone looking for some high quality sound on a budget. the receiver I bought was on sale for 299. So I spent around 600. I was going to buy a denon soundbar at 600, and I'm glad I didn't. These speakers are incredible.

Rounds out my 7.1 system perfectly
Posted by: Recoil from: on
I have 4 of these speakers in my bonus room that is 21*21. They are set as my rear speakers in a 7.1 system. I have a Yamaha RX-A750 receiver, with Klipsch Reference RC-62-II Center speaker, Klipsch Reference RF-62 II front speakers, Klipsch Reference R-12SW Subwoofer, and four of these Reference 5-1/4 Bookshelf Speakers on the rear.
I originally had my old speakers on the rear and they were getting overpowered by a lot by the Klipsch front speakers. I could barely hear them at all. So I bought four of the 5-1/4 shelf speakers. They pair perfectly with the rest of the Klipsch speakers. I have them mounted on 30" Sanus speaker stands which really allows the sound to travel through the room. I've had friends and family over and their reaction is usually just WOW!
Klipsch just so perfectly brings the treble, bass, and the mids to life. Music is just so powerful. Movies are surreal. I highly recommend these speakers to anyone wanting to round out their 5.1 or 7.1 system. Just on their own they would be very excellent speakers.

I've got perma-grin

Moved to a smaller home and replaced full sized Athena speakers with these Klipsch bookshelf speakers - and couldn't be happier with the sound. Fantastic sound. If you're doing your homework you'll compare technical specs, reviews, and from there these will probably make your short-list to listen to. I have these working with a large Sony subwoofer, but even with the Sub off... still have decent bass. For TV we often have the sub turned off and are happy with the sound. When watching a movie at a higher volume - I really can not tell a difference between these and larger speakers. Price was unbeatable at Best Buy and arguably far below what they could be marketed at.

Outstanding sound quality from a small speaker. I downsized my surround sound system and went with a sound bar and set of small speakers for music. These sound incredible! Crystal Clear and plenty of volume. Bass is what I expected with this size speaker. Very Happy!

Great bookshelf speakers
Posted by: Nerdbroz from: on
I bought these to work as my main speakers for now until I can afford to upgrade later on to a set of towers from klipsch. I use a 5.1 channel marantz amp pushing out 180 watts rms per channel. These surprised me. They fill the room very well with sound (especially considering the size). The highs are fairly bright, but sound clear and not overpowering. The lows and midrange actually are strong for the woofer size. They sound and work great, and they look fantastic. They are not as nice as my other jbl 4311 monitors (obviously based on the price) but for the price, they sound amazing in comparison.
