Excellent value and performance

I did considerable research on ultra wide monitors before making the decision to buy. I really wanted the 34" curved ultra wide with the 3440x1440 resolution, however that would have required upgrading my graphics card and I decided not to do that at this time. So the best compromise was the 29" ultra wide and thus far I am very impressed. I purchased a pair and side by side they provide tons of screen real estate. I play D&D 5E with Fantasy Grounds and the extra space allows for me to have maps and many other items open all at once with room to spare. So if you are a gamer or doing office type work where you need multiple items open with the ability to view them all at once, I would highly recommend this monitor.

Great UltraWide Monitor

I really love this LG ultrawide monitor! I've been using it for about a month and it works great. Took a little work to get my MacBook Pro to show the right resolution, but that was a Mac issue not the monitor. Great resolution, very comparable to the MacBook but the matted finish is perfect in my home office. If you get any bigger then a 29" I would recommend getting a curved screen as this is about the limit without noticeable distance eye adjustment at the edges.

Ultrawide at a great price

This is hands down the best value for an ultrawide monitor
1. Resolution higher than HD 1080p
2. Great for multitasking and gaming
3. Very affordable considering the size and unique resolution
4. It can replace a 2 monitor setup
5. Wall mountable
1. the outer plastic looks good but not premium
2. If you are replacing 2 hd monitors with this the resolution might not be enough. Is like 1 and 1/2 monitors in one.

Makes all the difference for a laptop 2nd screen
Posted by: SachseSister from: on
in the past, one outside sales member was frustrated with her lack of screen space when in the office. An ordinary second monitor did not improve the situation much. When we added this monitor, both the HD and the wide screen made ALL the difference. She now feels like she has the right tools to do her job effectively. Good for everyone and at a reasonable price.

Good monitor for a good price

I had the LG 34UM57 and elected to go down in size to this 29 inch model. I personally like the 21x9 aspect ration and would say that if you are going with a 1080p display, that you really shouldn't go much larger than 29 inches. I have seen complaints about texts not being as sharp as it can be, but again, would attest this mostly to resolution. With a 34" screen at 1080p, text just simply isn't sharp enough. I find the 29 inch to be a great compromise of both price and size.
With movies and games, this may not be an issue. I even took the time to watch some Silicone Valley on it last night and found the picture to be very good.
- Clear display
- 1080p support
- Matte screen/display
- Multiple viewing modes
- 21x9 ratio makes for great split screen productivity use
- Not as sharp as 4k monitor
- No speakers
- 21x9 ratio is not good for videos and games (that do not support it)

So far so good

Bought this for my home office b/c i don't have the desk space for 2 flat screens. While the set up instructions are non existent, i got it set up and it's working fine. I only use it for work, so i have no idea what games are like on it, but the picture is good, and I like the fact that you set up the split in several different ways, and then adjust the panes. Works great for what I do.

Great Monitor! Great Resolution!

Use this monitor for gaming on a custom built gaming rig. Just like having two monitors for the price of one. Takes a minute to get used to the extra width, but it's worth it.

Good upgrade to a 20" monitor
Posted by: KevlarZero from: on
All my life I've been using normal aspect ratio monitors 20" or smaller and I decided I would splurge a little on this very affordable 21:9 ultrawide monitor. I am very glad I did; it makes gaming a joy, although older games need some fiddling with and aren't always perfectly suited for ultrawide. Being that it is more pixels, 2560x1080, you will naturally need more graphics card power. The MSI GTX 970 works fine for many of the newer games like Deus Ex:Mankind Divided, Fallout 4, The Division, Overwatch, etc, and high settings. I have an older computer (i7-3770k @ 3.50 GHz, 16 GB RAM), but have no issues playing the latest and greatest. Some screens, especially the opening ones, use the 4:3 aspect ratio with black bars on each side. Not a huge deal for me but may bother others. I love having an ultrawide background image on my windows 10 desktop (of course you need to have a good enough camera image to make it look nice). Overall, very happy for the small investment. Very affordable, and works great!
The stand is not adjustable, by the way. The power button is four-directional as well, so you use it to select menu options. To turn the monitor off you click on it then pull the button towards you to select the off option.

Great All Around Monitor
Posted by: AccessDenied from: on
So I set out to replace my old gaming setup which was 3x 24" Samsung monitors. I am a big fan of the monitors that can do a real crisp black and this one seemed to be quite nice. Beyond that the screen size is huge and styling on the monitor itself is nice, The bezel size is nice and small (about 1/4 inch so its good for multi monitor setups.
Excellent refresh rate, I very rarely experience motion blur in games or movies. While this monitor does not use V-Sync most don't still and it is not branded as a gaming monitor so no -star from me. Even without tearing seems to be minimal as well.
2 HDMI inputs and 1 Display port input make it easy to use multiple inputs and the pip functions work nicely when I tried them out.
At the time or purchase Bestbuy did not sell a Display port cable for it so I was forced to use another online retailer. Keep this in mind when buying if you plan to use Display Port. In some of the reviews I read on here before purchasing people complained of low refresh rates and resolutions. I believe this has more to do with them using HDMI which is limited as I have had zero problems currently running 2x nvidia GTX 970 in surround mode 7860x1080 @ 60hrz and have used many many others. The newer generation of this monitor is currently out as well, but improvements seem to be small and price tag is not. Great all around monitor but might not be the best for every gamer. If you do quickbooks or excel a lot you will love this.

Perfect monitor for those who use dual monitors. This actually gives the capability of a third monitor.
