These are perfect for the office type
Posted by: eprince813 from: Dallas, TX on
Not bass prominent (at all) these are for the consumers who may want to sit in the office, have a decent appreciation for music but are all about functionality. It seems like more of a smart device because once you download the app LG Tone it can read 90% of your social media notifications. Calls are super crisp and clear on both ends. Battery life is cool 3 days on and battery status is "Medium". Is light weight and sometimes I forget I have them on. But be clear....if you are a music lover that wants to bring out every instrument and wants impactful music...look elsewhere. This is for the guy or gal who finds value in staying connected AND music

LG Has Done Real Good W/ HBS 810
Posted by: IWantMyMTV from: on
I've previously owned the HBS 730/750/800 and 900. These all have their plus and minus about them. The HBS 810 seems to do the best of most things in the HBS series family of Bluetooth headsets.
I like the retractable ear buds. Yes, at first I thought the cords to the ear buds were a bit too thin compared to other HBS models, but for the most part, they hold up well. When I have to use the ear buds, I try and pull them from the cord and not the ear buds. I would think after so many pulls on the ear bud part, they would eventually loosen and or pull the connection.
Sound on the 810 is outstanding, IMO. I didn't really care for the stock ear gels with the foam inside the gels, it just felt big inside my ear, even using the small ear gels. So I switched those out with small ear gels from one of my older HBS headsets (you can also buy extra ear gels on Ebay), and now the fit in my ear is much better. The 810 has great quality sound, loud also that I have to lower the volume. Good bass and treble from the 810. Call quality is real good, as long as you have a strong signal to boot.
I have a Samsung Note 4, an Android phone. What's nice about this is, in the Google market, there is an LG Tone & Talk app. This app allows you to set any LG HBS headset to talk if you have an incoming call, text, and you can use the jog controls to hear battery status, turn on/off vibrate and time. Also in the app, you can select how many vibrations for certain conditions. So this is a plus from an IPhone and well worth it. But IPhones do have Siri.
The vibration on the 810 is strong enough that you can feel if you have a call or text coming in, much stronger than on the 730 and 750 models.
I had the HBS 900 and as cool and sleek as it is, after some time wearing it; I could start feeling the weight on the back of my neck. The HBS 810 is a little lighter and most times I don't notice it and I sometimes forget I have it on till it vibrates.
Only negative I can think of is it is not as curved as the other models, like the 730/750/800/760. The 810 is "slightly" straighter, that at times, it goes inside my t-shirt. A bit of an annoyance but not that big of a deal. If I wear a hoodie or a collard shirt, this is a none issue.
Like laptop computers, the price of the HBS 810 eventually will come down. I've seen the 750 and 760 lower than $50 now. So the 810 in a few months will be quite affordable.
Last thing, all the buttons and jog switches are easy to access and easy to find with your fingers. Great features compared to the 750 and 800, where you really have to "feel" for the volume and other controls.
Great product, LG is top dog when it comes to Bluetooth wearable headsets!

Good product but range could be better.

This is my 3rd set of some variation of the LG Tone series headsets. I really like the sound quality and level that they provide on calls. I am outside a lot and other units just aren't loud enough and the slightest amount of wind makes them unusable. These have always been great, even to the point that I can be on calls while on my motorcycle and am able to hear and be heard just fine. My one complaint is that every set I buy to replace an old one seems to have a shorter range than the last. My first set I could be 30 feet away from my phone and they still worked fine. These are only good if my phone is on my hip or closer. I should say that I only replace them because I have broken or lost the old ones. The overall quality seems just fine to me and battery life is incredible. I would personally sacrifice some battery life for a better range though.

Wish I would have gotten it sooner

I've been toying around with the idea of getting a Bluetooth headset for months. Recently it was on sale at Best Buy and I took the plunge. Love it. The salesman paired it to my phone for me (they offered to do so). Anyway, so far I've really liked it.
One way I wanted to use it is to walk with it. My phone is an iPhone 6 Plus so doesn't fit in a pocket well. A concern I had was if I could put it in a fanny pack and it would still pair with each other. The answer to that is yes.
I haven't tested the outer limits yet but I have gotten about 30 feet from it and it still worked.
My only complaint is the size of the owner's manual. I don't think the pages are even 1/4 size -- they are pretty small so that makes the text minuscule. This morning I downloaded the manual (PDF) and printed out the English pages full size.

Well worth the money.

When I was first looking to buy Bluetooth earbuds I thought $100 seemed a bit steep. And it is, but not for these babys. The sound quality is really good, the mic on it picks up your voice perfectly, you can control Siri with them, and I can use them most of the day for about 2 1/2 days before I have to charge them. The range of the Bluetooth depends on how much stuff you have between the earbuds and the other device. If you have a clear shot you can go quite a ways before it starts to short out (I went almost an entire block down the road before it started going out). With walls and other things I could still go about 50-80 feet. Plus, the earbuds are retractable! These aren't the ones that you flip into something further up the set. You pull them out to the length you want and when you're done listening you pull slightly and they retract all the way back in. These really are amazing. I've had them for a couple of months now and use them every single day. Worth every penny.

My day varies each and everyday with the activities i do ranging from quiet environments while working out to loud environments mowing the lawn and working around loud equipment. I had always settled for the single ear blue tooth solution but always struggled getting good sound out them. I thought about purchasing a Blue Parrot but wanted something good for those workouts. I purchased the LGTone based off of reviews from a family member and the reviews on BestBuy. I am sure glad i did! So far this headset has met or exceeded my expectations in every situation.
Battery Life= Exceeded
Sound= Good quality
Comfort= Fair (the ear buds sometimes aren't the most comfortable and when you get hot and sweaty having something wrapped around your neck can be irritating)
Paring= Quick and easy and pairs to 2 devices at once
Durability= So far so good, the retractable ear buds have lasted longer than I expected.
The only reason would not give it 5 stars is the comfort fit of the earbuds could be improved.

Beware of LG! Customer service lousy!!!
Posted by: Edward from: on
The LG headset is just OK. I actually own others that are better. Stopped working after a few weeks of very little use. Had to call LG 4 times to get them to take it back. They only accept FedEx which is 20 miles for me to drop off. I received a new one today. No box no charge cable. Just wrapped in brown paper. A call to them informed me they do not send back "Accessories". I asked if They could at least send me a charging cable. 3 different persons told me NO and to have a nice day. I have dealt with HP, Motorola, and others over the years with great satisfaction. LG is by far the least responsive to the customer's needs. I doubt I will own another LG product ever again. I would advise folks to look elsewhere for their electronics.

Better than previous Ultra Tone model
Posted by: emvious from: on
- easy to operate
- sturdier design than previous model
- better battery life
- retractable budssssssss!!!!!
- Not approved by Rodney O and Joe Cooley since there is no Everlasting Bass (https://youtu.be/XllU_hAVTBE)
These are awesome around the neck earphones. The HBS-810 is sturdier and bulkier than the previous model, but there are time that I still forget that I'm wearing them. I used them while doing a bike commute from home and work, but I haven't noticed any degradation on it due to the sweat getting contact on the band or earphones.
The only problems I have so far is connectivity with my smartphone, which is not a problem on LG. I have more problems with connectivity after upgrading my nexus from Lollipop to Marshmallow, leading to me to think it's any issue on the smartphone side.
The bass is not the greatest on this earphones, but it's not a deal breaker for me. I'm able to turn up my bass on my google play musing eq and it meet's my need. If you into bass I wouldn't suggest this earphones.

Great battery life
Posted by: Rbw3401 from: on
Great battery life so far, for the first 30 days. I use this headset seven days per week. I start every day of the week with a conference call at 5:30AM, and they stay turned on continuously from the moment I turn them on at 5:30am for that first call of the day, until I turn them on before going to bed at 9PM most nights. Throughout the day I receive multiple phone calls, with no issues on quality. On average, I listen to music for at least three to four hours nonstop. The speaker quality is good. It's not Bose quality, but then, this headset isn't $299 either. The only thing I do not like is the range. I cannot be farther than 15 feet from my phone when at home, or it either disconnects Bluetooth, or the signal weakens. Otherwise I'm satisfied with the product. Would give it four stars if not for the Bluetooth connectivity.
