A: Hi, there. There's no specific distance and you no longer need any wires to install the unit. You just need to make sure that you place the extender midway between your router and the area without Wi-Fi and be sure that you have at least 50% of your router’s Wi-Fi signal on the place where you will set up the unit. A: Hi, Bob. Yes, it's possible to cascade multiple extenders to the router, however, we recommend using up to three extenders only as the signal deteriorates the more it gets extended.
A: Yes that is correct SheltieMom. This extender will have a new network name. The same as yours was before but w/ "_EXT" at the end. If you use the disk included and connect to the internet you can rename the network to whatever you want. You can also change which network you are connected to based off where you are in the house, using the one that has the strongest signal.
