Best Buy Customer Reviews
Quick set-up; excellent picture
Posted by: cerfrompgh from: Pittsburgh, PA on
This web cam was very easy to install. When I made my first Skype call to my brother to try it out I did not tell him that I had a new web cam. The very first comment he made was "Wow what a good clear picture that is!" Well that was good enough for me. He basically wrote this review.
Shortly after we finished our Skype call he called me on the phone to ask me the make and model of the web cam that I had just bought so that he could purchase the same one.
One concern that I had was the fact that it has a fixed focus and that I would have to be careful about my distance from the web cam so that my face would be in focus. That turns out not to be a problem at all. No matter where I sit my face is in focus. And as a matter of a fact, the books on the shelves across the room behind me are also in focus. So clear focus should not be a problem.
The sound is good too.
By this item; you will like it. It is currently on sale for $30, so that is another positive feature.

Made a video call using Skype within minutes
Posted by: OCBrian from: Irvine, CA on
Bought this for my parent's HP Media Center PC, which is about 5 years old running Windows XP. I was concerned that this newer camera may not work well with their older computer, however it works great! There is only one USB cable to connect to the PC, and one CD to install. The most difficult part of the installation was trying to remove the camera from the package. The RightLight feature where the image automatically brightens in a dimly-lit room is a definite plus. The image quality is like watching oneself on an HDTV—very vibrant and sharp.

I just love my new webcam!!!
Posted by: Goofy23 from: PA on
I simply love my new webcam. I just had my video conference which was the reason why I bought it, and I had a wonderful experience. The built in mic was wonderful, and I did not have any problem communicating. The picture was great and it was so clear all the time. I loved the feature that follows my movement while talking.
I don't know a lot about technology, and I was afraid I was going to have a hard time installing the webcam and learning how to work with it. It was a piece of cake. Thanks logitech!!!!!! I recommend the webcam without any doubt. I think it is a wise purchase.

I'd certainly do it again
Posted by: dtut from: New Jersey shore on
My ancient webcam didn't work with my new computer, and I had a Skype video meeting in just one day. What to do?
I found this camera on sale at Best Buy. The specs were good -- way better than my old one. The reviews I could find were good. I bought it over the Internet and picked it up that evening in my local Best Buy store. Took it home and hooked it up. Worked right out of the box. Worked with Skype from the first test call. My meeting was a success, and so were subsequent video conferences. (Video is important here. I'm a golf consultant, so things like swing nuances matter. We can't just tell, we have to show.)
There are a few negatives to this overall excellent product:
(1) It is too light to put down on a flat surface and expect it to stay aimed. You must find someplace suitable for the rather strange and marginally effective clip.
(2) Its most wide-angle setting is too tight. I have to get back too far from the computer for most interaction, or else fill the whole screen from the top of the shoulders up.

Better than I expected
Posted by: TW79 from: Philadelphia, Pa on
This webcam is great! I just bought it today and wasn't sure what to expect but I can now say that I am very satisfied with this product. It was very easy to install and use. I read an earlier review warning that the installation software may not be compatible with WD Smartware software if it is already installed on your computer so I didn't think I would be able to use this product. But in fact I had no problem installing the logitech software on my computer with the WD Smartware software already there so don't let that earlier review discourage you if this is your case.

Better than expected for Skype Interview
Posted by: piscatorialphd from: Central Ohio on
I had a job interview with a search consultant out of CA. They conduct their first interviews via Skype video conf., which I had not used. So, off I was scrambling for an inexpensive webcam and found this at BB on sale for $29.99 (still a bargain at $49.99). I got a Skype account, plugged in the Logitech c310 and I was in business in minutes. During the interview the consultant even commented on the clarity of the audio and video. All I know is that I made it to the second round!

Very easy to set up; great video quality
Posted by: Littlechamp from: Houston, TX on
My nephew uses this camera, and I remember being stunned by the video quality during a Skype call. So when I needed one for my new computer, and saw the great price on the Best Buy website, I ordered it without doing my usual comparison shopping. It was a snap to set up and use, and we were up and running in no time. Our Skype contacts immediately noticed the superior quality. Haven't done anything else with it yet, but I believe there are other features waiting to be explored.

Great Camera easy to use
Posted by: JaimiT from: Nashville, TN on
I bought the Logitech C310 for my mother and father for Christmas. I'm away at college in my second year and felt a little homesick. Talking on the phone just didn't suffice for me. I originally was going to purchase this camera on amazon but at the last minute found it cheaper here. So i bought and had it sent to my parents house. Took about a week and it came UPS. The set up was super easy. My mom has a Toshiba without a webcam built in. It comes with a CD that you put it in, register the product, and then plug the camera into your USB port. It also has a 5ft Cord. The only thing that being an experienced computer person didn't like is that it left a software shortcut on the computer that you have to click to use the camera. When you click it asks you if you want to sign into Skype (or whatever camera program you have) and then BOOM ready to videochat. The first time we called we had real issues with the camera quality, it kept a box pop up saying internet connection was too slow. Although both of us have high speed internet. (I blame it on the snow storm we were having) Since then the quality has been PERFECT! no godzilla lag on the voices. limited freezing. easy. easy. easy.
My Parents are in their late 50's and their NO TECHNOLOGY selves can work this perfect.

This is my 1st review for a webcam. I always had issues with external webcams either the video quality wasn't good or had to go find the software to install before configuring the webcam to my laptop.
this cam is just amazing. Great Great Great video quality and plug and play. So easy that i just love it.
I highly recommend this equipment.

Easy as cake!

Bought this web cam for use with Skype. Signed up skype account in 2 minutes, unpacked web cam with all the packaging 5 minutes, connected web cam USB cable 20 seconds. I'm on skype. Hardest part was packaging. Clear picture, no need to CD installation or any other software. Once Skype was loaded, this was simply plug and play. However the 510 series just went on sale for less than this 310 series, so I may return it and upgrade for less. I operate Vista (unfortunately) and thsi was no problem with my system.
