This 10-cup coffee maker features a thermal carafe to keep coffee hot and fresh and a Fresh Brew timer and brew strength selector to make your morning cup the way you like it.
A: Push the "CLEAN" button to start the cleaning cycle with vinegar, not the round button that is used to start a normal coffee making cycle. The clean cycle starts and stops, soaks the heating coils while hot, and eventually completes with the light going out.
Q: How does the clean button work
A: This is my second Mr. Coffee 10-Cup Thermal Coffee Maker. The first one lasted over 15 years. I have never used the clean button. I just use soap & water to clean the pot and the holder for the coffee grounds.
A: The inside of mine looks the same as the outside, stainless steel. I have a double-walled "stainless" steel mug that did get the brown coffee stains and I have read online that distilled white vinegar was one solution that would help to get rid of that.
Q: What grind coffee should I use?
A: not espresso - regular
Q: Is there an indicator showing the coffee level?
A: No, it's a stainless steel carafe. We have to pick it up and swish it around to test if there's any coffee left.
Q: How do I put water filter disk in...can’t seem to do it
A: Just twist to open the water filter holder, drop it in, and twist to close it back up.
A: no
Q: Why does the brew button only flash instead of starting brew cycle?
A: After it finishes brewing a pot of coffee, a 2-hour timing cycle comes on the display. That's to let users know how long it's been since it was made (a nice feature, incidentally). If you wish to brew another pot while the timing cycle is still on, the first time you hit the button it turns off the timer, then tap it again and it begins brewing.
