Q: do you have to buy a separate router or is it all built in?
A: The router is built in, it's a modem/router combo and it works like a champ. I am constantly hitting well above what I pay for in speed tests.

A: yes it does. it even shows Time Warner on the box
A: Yes, this is both the modem and router in one unit, and it works with Comcast (the service I have) as well as most other cable internet providers. Please note that there is a different model for DSL users who have AT&T or another DSL service.
