Easier than I thought

Works great. Electric plug in near the wireless router and pushed the buttons in the instructions on the router and device and it installed itself. It automatically picked up my long phrase password on the router. Then I unplugged it and moved it where I had the weak signal and it worked. Easy. Now, you DO need to go to your all computers, iPads, and/or smart-phones you own and SEARCH for the new wireless router network which this is. It will mirror your existing one with the letters "-EXT" at the end. I have a Droid, iPad, Iphone, a laptop and Macbook, and they all had to be manually configured to find and setup the new wireless network but is the same as you would any place wireless is offered, find it and connect with your router's password (dig it up since you last set it up). Lastly, When you move from one side of the house to the other, you need to switch the wireless router on them to get the stronger of the two signals.

does what it says & more!

The automatic setup is very easy - just press the WPS buttons as instructed and it will mirror your existing Wi-Fi network, and you enter your passphrase when prompted. The automatic setup will add "_EXT" to end of your SSID name. This will work for most users, but not me!
After this device is configured, go back and modify device settings through your browser. It will allow you to remove "_EXT" from the SSID name and it will save. Now you can walk around your house with your apple or android devices and it will automatically switch between this extender and your router. Now it works better than before....

Wi-Fi All Over!
Posted by: planedame from: on
I recently had my modem relocated from the ground floor to the basement. This resulted in wi-fi being available in just half the house, nothing in the LR, K, DR. This wi-fi extender, a very reasonable solution, was recommended by the sales person. If it didn't work he suggested the next step would be to consider buying a better modem than what the cable co provides.
I installed the wi-fi extender in a central location where there was a good strong signal, simply right into a power strip (no other option at this time), and it works like a charm! Now I have "Wi-Fi All Over" the house again.

Amazing. We have a couple of small houses over large acreage; our router is in the 'main' house and we were looking for a way to extend the router's coverage to the outlaying structures. Plug it in, set it up, and WOW - full bar coverage from the farthest room in the farthest structure. OK, the instructions could have been a bit clearer (when you initially try to connect and it asks you for a password, it's the WPS PIN on the unit, nothing about that in the instructions at all), but once I got past that hurdle, it was a piece of cake, and we are good as gold with our connectivity!

After trying another range extender and not being satisfied, I tried the WN3000RP range extender and was pleasantly surprised. My wifi is set up in my office which is on the other side of the house and I was not able tO get a good signal in my bedroom. After installing the range extender per instructions half way between the router and the bedroom, I was able to get full signal strength in my bedroom. Definitely recommend the product.

Great WiFi extender

Read reviews and this one seem to get great ones. I highly recommend it. I've had it for a couple of weeks now. I had a spot in 2nd floor bedroom that was constantly dropping my wifi signal. This wifi range extender boost the signal greatly. Where I got maybe 2 bars on my iPhone, I now have all bars lit. It says to plug this in an outlet approximately halfway between your wifi source & where you are using your device. I have it 3/4 the way, in my second floor hallway. It picks up my cable wifi from the 1st floor kitchen pretty far away. Easy to set up too. Took about 5 mins. It uses the same name you picked out for your wifi network and just adds a "ext" for extended, to the name you already have. A cheap enough fix that works awesome!!

Performs as advertised

Device was set up in a total of 5 minutes - two minutes to unpack and read the simple instructions, 2 minutes to plug in and connect to the router (a NetGear) and 1 minute to establish a connection to my computer. I found no loss of speed through the extender compared to directly connecting to my router with comparable signal strength.. The signal was boosted significantly since my office computer was right on the fringe of the router signal. Another reliable product from NetGear.

This was an affordable solution, I recommend it!

I read the reviews on this extender and decided to try it. I have a new house that is over 3700 sq ft not counting the finished basement. I decided to try Verizon Fios and unfortunately, it was so slow and un reliable unless I used my device in the same room as the router. I called Verizon back out and it was really nothing they could do because it was installed in the most beneficial location. He recommended that I try an extender as an economical option to my problem.
So, I read the reviews for an affordable extender and purchased this one. It works perfectly, easy to install and I can access the internet and watch videos from any location. As a note, the Verizon router is on the 1st floor and I have the extender plugged in the room directly above the room with Verizon router on the 2nd floor.

Worst product ever

Purchased this today 04/24/12 took it home and followed the directions that were included, would not pick up my wifi, tried in several locations throughout the house with the same results, called customer support and went over everything they could think of. Spent over 3 hours on the phone. Had the unit sitting beside my wireless router and could still not get a signal indicator. Wireless router works fine just a weak signal at the other end of the house for the laptop and tablet. Spoke with a supervisor and was informed they do not sell defective products and I informed them apparently they do sell faulty products because this one did not work out of the box. Will be taking this one back and getting a different brand.
