Q: what's included in the box?
A: Camera came with a charging cord... it charges like a cell phone. You use the same cord to transfer pics to a computer. Memory card is separate. It also came with a strap and some basic instructions.
Q: How do you change the Battery on the Olyumpus TG-4 or the Olympus 860TG?
A: The TG-4 came with a charging cable - one end is a little larger than USB Mini (plugs into camera and might be proprietary?) and the other end is standard USB. It also included a USB wall adapter. The voltage ratings on the wall adapter are similar to others I have, so it could likely be interchanged with others I have.
Q: How does this camera do in direct sunlight?
A: I think it does fine in direct sunlight. I have attached two photos taken this month in South America showing what the camera can due in direct sunlight. In both cases I am shooting into the sun.
Q: Do you have the option of switching between JPEG and RAW file formats?
A: Yes; under most (non-scene) situations. However, you have to shoot both RAW with JPEG image, there is not just a RAW setting.
A: Yes, it is a great underwater camera. You can actually take the camera inside water for shooting.
Q: how do you transfer photos to a laptop? Do you have to purchase separately the USB cord?
A: No, you do not have to purchase a separate USB cord. You can use the USB cord that comes with the battery charger to connect to your computer and download the photos using Windows Photo Gallery.
Q: what type of memory card do you need? Will anyone card due?
A: Any high speed SD card will do. Make sure it is speed Type 10 or better.
Q: Can you charge the battery using a 240v outlet.
A: Yes, the supplied charger can be used with either 220 or 110V. Just get the right plug adaptor.
