Fitbit One Wireless Activity and Sleep Tracker: Measure your activity day and night with Fitbit One, a sleek device that goes beyond the traditional pedometer. Get motivated to reach your goals by making small changes to your daily life, like taking extra steps throughout the day or learning how to sleep more soundly at night.
A: A fitbit "One" has a flexible clip on the side so you can attach it to your pocket, bra, purse or what ever is with you throughout the day. I put mine on my jeans pocket or pant waistband. My husband puts his on his shirt pocket a friend of mine puts her's on her bra strap. Just don't forget to take it off before you put your clothing in the washing machine. I actually have done this twice now but then it went through the dryer too before I missed it and it still worked fine.( GASP upon realization and then followed by "whew') I wouldn't recommend that but as you know stuff happens. Others have rescued theirs from the washer and then put it in a bowl of rice to absorb the moisture. So far the dryer has worked for me. (only because I knew it wasn't there) . I love my fitbit One, it's a great motivator to try to get in my 10,000 steps a day.
Q: How long does the battery last? and how do you change or charge it?
A: I find that the battery lasts about a week. It comes with a special charging cord that has a USB plug on it. However, it does not communicate via USB, only bluetooth.
A: They are both similar the only difference I noticed is fitbit ONE is more protected. It has a clip and the ultra jus slides on. I've had both and I go with ONE.
Q: How accurate does it count steps?
A: Yes it does & you can also access the Fitbit One's web page interface to change the length of your stride. Look under the tabs at the Dashboard.
Q: Does fit it track results on a I-Pad
A: iPad does track, but you have to buy the app...if you have an iPhone, you can get a free app, and it tracks well.(not sure if Android has app, but I would guess there would be...) If you want to put in meals/calories, or exercise (other than the steps being tracked), you need to use a computer...just log onto your account with Fitbit.com. Very easy.
A: Go to Fitbit.com, select Help at the top of the page, select the product and it will give you access to the One Manual.
Q: Is this waterproof or water resistant?
A: Fitbit one is water resistant not waterproof. It should not be worn swimming. It is rain, splash and sweat-proof. Check out fitbit flex. Also listed as water resistant but it says it can be submerged up to 10 meters
Q: Can the fit bit measure activity on a recumbment bycycle?
A: The count would not be accurate. They do have an ability within the app or dashboard to enter alternative methods of except ode based on activity and duration. The only Fitbit product that monitors exercise other than walking that I am aware of is the Surge but it is at the high cost end of fitness I would recommend either working with the another tracker or you can set up an account with Fitbit and try some entries to see how it works for yourself. It does not require a tracker to use the app or software but as with anything they will advertise their products while using their software.
