Fifty Great Reasons to Choose an Onkyo

IIf you're looking to get the best possible audio performance on a limited budget-and something you can use to power audio from your TV, Blu-ray player, turntable, and CD player-then the TX-8020 is for you. Passing over the extras you don't need in favor of purely musical analog power, it remains versatile enough to serve at the heart of your home entertainment system. Onkyo's WRAT delivers 50+50 W of power, with discrete output stage circuitry and a high current, low-impedance drive to effortlessly handle the most demanding loads. The sound is characteristic of the veteran hi-fi brand, with lively dynamics, a sweet and natural mid-range, and accurate timing for all kinds of music. And just like the cool vintage receivers in its genealogy, the TX-8020 has bass, treble, and balance controls as well as speaker A/B posts for multi-room setups. Add a pair of bookshelf or floorstanding speakers of your choice, connect your media players and TV-perhaps including the DS-A5 RI dock with AirPlay-and be treated to the kind of full-scale, broad-spectrum performance a soundbar couldn't hope to match.

Q: i want to confirm that I can connect a powered subwoofer to this amp. Please advise correctly. thanks

A: YES!!!! Works great too! You can buy either a single male to male RCA cable or a RCA Y cable for subwoofers.

Q: I want to connect a Sony turntable PS=LX-250 H, AC 120 V, 60 HZ 2 W, to the ONYKO TX 8020 with phono input - will this work? I also need 2 speakers (preferably bookshelf)for this receiver. Your answer and suggestion is appreciated.

A: According to a couple of articles online I just read about your turntable, the turntable has a preamp that can be turned off. If you turn off the preamp, you should be able to connect the turntable to the phono inputs of the receiver. Alternatively, you can leave the turntable preamp on and connect the turntable to the CD or tape inputs of the receiver. I don't know what to say about the speakers: you are correct, you will need two speakers to connect to the receiver. The receiver can handle speakers whose impedance is anywhere between 4 ohms and 16 ohms.

Q: does it have a remote conrol?

A: Yes, a remote control is included.

    Q: does this amp/receiver have usb/mp3 capability

A: You can play MP3s via an AUX cable but not via USB.

Q: Can I connect the Onkyo (DX-C390) 6 disc Cd player to this amplifier in order to play CD's throughout my five room in-home stereo system?

A: Yes you xan connect the analog output of DX-C390 using RCA cable to CD input of TX-8020.
