Q: Whats the difference between this bulb and Model: 456202 sold here?
A: after looking at both I would say that the 456202 is the first gen
Q: Do 2nd Gen bulbs work with first gen hub, or I need a 2nd gen hub to go with this bulb?
A: Either hub works with all Hues. The difference between Gen 1 & Gen 2 Philips Hubs are 2nd Gen is compatible with Siri & Apple HomeKit.
Q: what generation is this bulb?
A: This is a GEN 2 bulb
Q: Does 2nd generation bulbs work in the 3rd generation?
A: They will work, but they won't change to all of the colors the 3rd gen bulbs do. They seem to have a hard time with the green family or at least the 3 that i had did.
Q: Does this have to work with the Hue Bridge?
A: Yes, you need a Philips Hue bridge (hub) for these bulbs.
