This PNY CS1100 solid state drive performs rapidly, with sequential write speeds up to 500MB/sec. for enhanced performance. Backward compatibility with SATA II and SATA I interfaces ensures simple connectivity.
Q: Can you download Acronis from PNY if you buy this drive?
A: I don't know if you get Acronis for free but there is a solution. Go to http://www.aomeitech.com/ and download their free version of "Backupper" It has the same features as Acronis.
A: Hello; this is a external drive not a internal drive, so it will not fit into any computer or laptop, as you need to purchase a internal Solid State Drive.
A: Yes
A: 7mm with a spacer to make it 9mm
Q: will this work in a dell desktop
A: no and no. I used some velcro tape to mount the drive, and free software called "Reflect" and had no problems. You will also need a spare cable
Q: Would this work in an old (2009) Dell Latitude ?
A: You need to look up the specific specifications for the model of Dell you have. Most laptops in 2009 came with SATA drives. As long as your laptop uses a SATA drive interface, the PNY CS1100 should work. That said, unless the computer has a SATA II/III interface, you will not be able to transfer data at the full rated speeds of the CS1100. You might want to consider putting the money for the upgrade toward a newer computer instead of upgrading a 6 year old computer.
A: I converted the drive to an external drive with use of a case and I haven't had any trouble using this for storage with a Mac.
