NOT a pedometer
Posted by: Bruck from: Sparta, Mi on
Due to the arthritis in my ankle, I cannot walk for exercise. I ride my exercise bike in the winter and my Trek bike in the warmer months. The FT7 has all the features I need to set my goals - fat burning , exercise, heart rate. It's easy to set up and use. The other models are more for runners or walking exercise.

I was amazed to find out the accuracy of the heart rate monitor! I work in a hospital and hooked up to our heart rate monitor while wearing the watch and chest strap and it was the exact same!! Very impressed!!!

Best Heart Rate Monitor I Have Used So Far
Posted by: Anthony32111 from: Portland, TN on
Accurately displays heart rate, calories burned, and workout duration. Does what it is supposed to do well. I also purchased the Polar Flowlink so I can transfer data from the FT7 and I can easily track my workout progress on my PC. This monitor helps me stay motivated to keep my heart rate up for the duration of my workout. The only improvement I would like to see is the chest strap design, as it is a little annoying at times. I would definitely buy this again and I would recommend to a friend or family member.

Good product, and great improvements

I've had two previous models of Polar HRM, and this one is the best, yet. It has very intuitive controls, and the batteries can be easily replaced on both the transmitter and watch! Very happy so far.

Very Easy to Use
Posted by: tptstud01 from: Fleming Island, FL on
I bought this to help my cardio activity at the gym. The sensor fits very comfortably around my chest, and transmits to all the cardio equipment at the gym. It keeps me from having to grip the heart grips while working out, and is much more accurate than the hand grips anyway. It also helps having the records made of all my workouts in addition to the cardio. It only takes a little bit of information, and it tracks all your activity very easily.

No More Guestimating!
Posted by: ayeRhonnie from: Brooklyn, NY on
I bought this watch on my new found road to fitness and I have to say it's helped a lot. Now I want to go out and be a little bit more active just to see how much calories I will burn or if my fitness is improving. Found out that the machines at the gym are very incorrect (100-300 calories higher). Though I am female, I bought the men's watch because I do not like the colors offered for women.

I love this product!

I'm glad I purchase this product. At first I was hesitant due to the cost. I didn't feel the need to spend money on a HRM. Well, I'm glad I made the investment. I enjoy keeping track of how many calories I burned. I like that on the FT7 it tell you how many fat and fitness calories you burned and you can set your weekly goal.

Awsome heart rate monitor
Posted by: MarkRL from: Lafayette, LA on
I purchased this monitor as a gift. I own one too. It works flawlessly. The display is large and easy to read. The set was very simple. The works out results can be uploaded to Polars web site. This simplifies the tracking the workouts. We have used the monitors for 5 weeks. The monitor and we site make determining how hard we are training on a daily basis and over time very easy.

Great HRM to start with
Posted by: Sunidaze from: Ohio on
I bought this back in February because I was trying to do more heart rate training as well as wanted to be able to track calories burned over the course of my workout (I know not completely accurate, but gave me a more general idea). I had been using my husband's old sportline watch since I upgraded him to a Garmin watch...but the Sportsline was bulky (obviously...it was a men's watch#, confusing, etc. I love the Polar. I see in some other reviews people have said it didn't work, froze up, etc...didn't experience any of that and part of me has to wonder if at times it may be user error #because I have plenty of experience with that error-type#. This watch is very easy to use and to set up. I like that it is a women's model and NOT pink!
The only drawback for me now is that I want more. I guess I want more of a GPS-type watch as I've gotten more and more into the running and this doesn't do anything more run specific #i.e. mph, distance, etc.).
I should also add this watch gets daily use...usually a minimum of one hour to 90 minutes and sometimes up to 2 hours.

Third time's a charm
Posted by: JamieD from: Encinitas, CA on
This is my third HRM watch. The two previous watches were Timex and both died on me within less than 12 months and also gave me incorrect readings when running (200 BPM etc.). I've had this watch only a month but so far I've had no issues and the features are very useful, particularly the log that it keeps of up to 99 workouts so you can monitor your activity. It would be great if the data was more easily transferrable to other fitness apps (such as FitBit which I am a big user of) but this watch requires a special component to export data to a PC. That said still a fitness great watch at the under $100 price point.
