  • Key Specs
    • Effective Pixels: 10 megapixels (The actual number of pixels which make up the viewable image.)
  • General
    • Product Name: Snap 10.0-Megapixel Digital Camera
    • Brand: Polaroid
    • Model Number: POLSP01B
    • Color: Black
    • Digital Camera Type: Point and Shoot Cameras
  • Imaging
    • Image Sensor Type: CMOS (CCD and CMOS are the two main technologies used in image sensors. CCD, the older of the two types, turns analog light signals into digital pixels. This conversion happens without distortion, resulting in high-quality images. Newer CMOS sensors use transistors at each pixel to move electrical charges. CMOS sensors are typically less expensive, but also require more light to create distortion-free images.)
    • Total Pixels: 10 megapixels (Generally, the more pixels, the higher the image resolution and the finer the detail that can be seen.)
    • Digital Zoom: None (A digital zoom is accomplished electronically, with no adjustment of the camera's optics, and no optical resolution gained in the process. The existing data is not enhanced or added to, merely displayed at a lower resolution, thereby giving an illusion of an enlarged image.)
    • Optical Zoom: None (The optical zoom uses a combination of lenses that magnify the image prior to it being registered at high resolution by the imaging sensor.)
    • Low Light/High Sensitivity: false (High sensitivity digital imaging devices are designed to work in low light conditions to produce a high dynamic range image.)
    • Image File Format(s): JPEG (Standardized software format(s) of storing digital images. The type of format chosen for capturing and compressing the image can determine quality, level of detail, and storage space required.)
  • Focus
    • Autofocus: false (Allows the camera to automatically focus through the lens, rather than by adjusting the lens manually.)
  • Exposure Control
    • Shutter Speeds: Not Applicable (The length of time the shutter remains open when the shutter release is activated, expressed in fractions of seconds. The longer the shutter is open, the more light that is able to be captured by the camera sensor.)
    • Brightness Control: false (Allows the camera to adjust the brightness of a captured image for optimal exposure.)
    • Burst Mode: false (Also referred to as continuous shooting. This feature captures multiple shots in rapid succession.)
    • Self Timer: true
    • Shooting Modes: normal; black & white; vintage sepia tone; photo booth (Exposure modes employed by the photographer to control the optimal aperture, shutter speed, ISO, and other settings for capturing specific subjects/scenes. Examples include Aperture-Priority, Macro, and Manual modes.)
    • Panorama Mode: false
    • Scene Modes: black-and-white and a vintage-look sepia tone (Exposure modes with predetermined optimal settings for capturing specific scenes. Examples include Landcape, Portrait, and Sports modes.)
    • Effective Pixels: 10 megapixels (The actual number of pixels which make up the viewable image.)
  • Flash
    • Flash Modes: Automatic, Off (The flash feature emits light to increase the brightness of a subject in dimly lit environments. Common modes include Auto and Red-Eye Reduction.)
    • Integrated Flash: true
  • Display
    • Touch Screen: false (Touch-screen devices make navigating more intuitive. Using a touch-screen display, you can do things such as tap to select, hold and drag to move items, swipe to scroll, and pinch to zoom.)
  • Video
    • HDR Mode: false (HDR Mode uses multiple photos taken at different exposures to add more dynamic range to photographs. HDR technology displays content with greater contrast between bright and dark, resulting in clearer and more lifelike images.)
    • Slow Motion Recording: false
  • Compatibility
    • Tripod/Monopod Mountable: true (A support function that allows the device to be mounted to monopods and tripods for leveling and stability.)
    • Memory Card Compatibility: microSD (The type of memory card(s) recommended for use with the product.)
    • Remote Compatible: false
  • Features
    • Face Detection: false (A function that automatically detects human faces and then sets focus and appropriate exposure to capture them.)
    • Smile Mode: false (When enabled, this mode works in conjunction with face detection to automatically take a photo when a smile is detected.)
    • Integrated GPS: No
    • Records Audio: false
  • Connectivity
    • PictBridge Enabled: false (PictBridge allows digital cameras, camcorders and other image capture devices to connect and print directly to photo printers and other output devices without using a computer.)
    • Charging Interface(s): USB (The connection for transmitting power to charge the device.)
  • Power
    • Rechargeable Battery: true

Q: What kind of battery does this camera need?

A: It's a rechargeable camera, you can't take it apart to replace the batteries, just plug it in for a half hour or so and you're set.

Q: Can you upload the photos to a computer?

A: It has a microSD slot, so you can save the photos you take and then connect to a computer via USB and transfer the photos. If you don't put a USB card in it, the on-board memory only is large enough for 1 picture, so it will overwrite your previous photo with the current one you are taking, so I recommend putting a microSD card in the camera :)

Q: how much is the film for how many pictures?

A: 20 pictures for about $10 or 40 pictures for less than $20.

Q: So you can upload pictures and/or print?

A: When you take a picture with the Snap, if you have a micro sd card inserted in the camera, your image will be saved on the card. If you have Zink paper in the camera, it will automatically print the picture you just took as well as storing it on the card. If there is no paper in the camera, the image will still be saved on the card. You cannot upload anything to the camera. It just takes pictures.

Q: Which one is better Polaroid snap or Fuji film instax instant camera ?

A: I have the fujifilm instax instant camera its a good camera but i assume the Polaroid snap is better because its 10 mega pixels and the fujifilm instant camera is lower quality then that and the snap has instagram filters and has a memory card slot but im still happy with the fujifilm.

Q: Want this for my daughters class trip. Can u choose which photos to print or does it print every photo taken whether a good picture or not ??

A: As long as you have paper in, it will print every picture you take. Otherwise you can have your memory stick in there without paper.

Q: If a picture is taken without paper in the camera but with a memory card can you then put paper in the camera and select certain photos to print or will it automatically print all of the pictures taken? Thank you

A: If you have photo paper Loaded the picture you take will automatically print. Generally with all the cameras that print in camera once you take the image if you don't have paper in the camera you can't print it through the camera after. However if your image is saved on the memory card then you can print the saved image using an external printer.

Q: Do you need to replenish the ink that prints the pictures in the camera?

A: This product uses paper that has ink built in.
