Q: Do Monster HDMI cables really make a difference?

A: So, HDMI is a somewhat complex issue. HDMI is a digital interface for signal. This is opposed to the older analog system. Digital systems are generally considered lossless. That is, any information at the start of the cable will be at the end of the cable. If information is lost along the way, the tv can generally compensate, thanks to the encoding that the digital system uses as a "handshake." For picture quality, there will probably not be a difference in terms of visuals because either the signal will make it to the end or it won't (you will either get a picture or you will not get a picture). So, Monster cable won't provide a better picture. However, there can be differences in cable build quality such as more shielding from excessive radiation (crosstalk between different cables), longevity from cable management (if the cable is moved between different items), and plating (the tips may be coated differently to ensure a better connection between tv and cable). So, the question should not be if the picture is better but if the quality of the build of the cable is worth the expense. Would you rather purchase one cable for the next 10 years of use or many cheap cables. I tend to fall into the buy cheap cables and exchange them as needed because newer standards for HDMI are constantly created as better picture becomes available (such as 4K, 8K, etc.). Another factor is audio quality. Audio is different from video in that the signal at some point has to change to an analog interface (in order to create the vibration of the speaker which uses an electric charge to adjust pitch and volume). Some argue that there may be a noticeable difference in audio quality with better cables. I personally, have never experienced a difference. You may. However, the evidence tends to point toward a placebo effect with audio cables where expense causes the listener to feel that the audio is better.

Q: Does the screen swivel on the base?

A: No it does not swivel. Be very very careful if you opt to set it up yourself. I am shopping for a new tv because the screws came out of the base, the tv fell and is now junk. It took a year for the screws to come out, so check the base once and awhile and make sure the screws are still there and secure. The tv was awesome, best picture ever and I want another one!

Q: does the tv scale everything up to 2160p?

A: HD content still looks amazing. This TV delivers a television broadcast and plays DVDs or Blu ray disks in the format in which they are sent. So if you are watching an NFL game from your satellite receiver that broadcasts in 1080p at 60Hz, the TV will deliver the program at 1080p 60Hz. If you are using a newer blu ray player to upscale your current blu ray 1080p disks to 2160p, it will display in 2160p. Basically, the television does not upscale any content, it only matches the resolution and refresh rates to the signal it receives.

Q: Does this smart TV get Amazon Prime

A: Yes, it has an Amazon Prime app, as well as Netflix.

Q: Specs say 120 hz motion but reading some of the reviews indicate it is more like 60 hz including someone who returned it for motion blur.

A: I had blur but it was because all of the advanced picture features were turned on. I turned that stuff off and the picture suddenly had depth and moves clearly. Most people are unaware that these features are turned on. I suppose if you had a low quality picture source it might help, but not for modern media.

Q: Regular Antenna hook up

A: Yes it can be used with an antenna

Q: What is fxza?

A: It's part of the full model number. Some retailers don't add the letters in ads or the website, but it's the same TV. Thanks for your interest in Samsung products. --Mr. S

Q: Is this tv directv ready?

A: Yes, it is on the list of tvs approved as Directv ready on Directv.com but check with Directv to make sure the list is current.
