Q: How many hours does the battery last for wireless blutooth earbuds when in continuous use?
A: I have mine turned on and connected to my phone from around 8am to 7pm at night. I just leave them around my neck. With that I probably listen to music ~ 4 hours a day and I normally charge them every 3-4 days(and they aren't even dead). I love the battery life on these things. Also a thing to note is that bluetooth 4 is much more battery efficient so make sure your phone has it too.
Q: how do these compare to beats or skullcandy?
A: I personally think that beats are over rated. They have great sound (best bass), but they didn't stay in my ears when working out as they are 'over the ear' versus the JayBirds are 'in the ear'. The battery life on the beats was not as good as the JayBirds. The price on the beats were more expensive compared to the JayBirds (at the time when i purchased). I didn't look at skull candy as they were not even listed in the tech reviews for gym workouts.
Q: Would this product be considered water proof?
A: These headphones are sweat-proof. Not water proof. If Lil Wayne pours a bottle of champagne on them or throws them in a fish tank, they will likely fail and not be covered.
Q: What are the ear fins used for??? These would get in the way of sunglasses, sport activities
A: They give a little extra support to keep the buds in the ear. They fit on the inside part of your ear (not the ear canal). They don't go over the ear and therefore they have zero impact on glasses and hats.
Q: What is the difference use between the silicone and foam ear buds?
A: The marshmallow earbuds are the most comfortable! I wear them all the time - but especially appreciate them if lying down and turn my head against the pillow - you don't even realize they are in your ear!
A: I had the same question before buying the Jaybird X2 earphones. Personally, the jaybird x2 was not as comfortable as I thought it would be (especially after reading all the hype about it). No matter what combination of the ear tips and wings I used, they would still fall out of my ears when I shooked my head or had the cords barely tugged on. Maybe my ear canals are too narrow. I compared the sound quality to my apple earphones and it wasn't that much better. It sounded better but not enough to be excited about. The bluetooth signal is not always good. I had my phone on my bed and when I walked out of my room it started to sound staticky after a few steps pass the door; so about 15-20 ft it starts to lose signal. This is my first set of wireless earbuds and I am not impressed by it. Charging it becomes a hassle too. Good thing is that you can always try it out and return it if you don't like it.
A: Yes they will work with any device that supports Bluetooth audio and the latency is fairly low so not too much of an issue with audio/video syncing.
A: I wore these around, hidden from coworkers and friends for about a week. I wanted to see how discrete I could be with them. No one noticed anything different in my voice when I called people on them. Great call quality. I wear them behind my head so if I am driving with the windows down, the wind isn't kicking the mic around like when you wear wired ear buds. I would recommend these without a doubt.
