“Is there an internal speaker in this unit? Are you able to listen to the play back without using the headset? I see no speaker grill in the pictures of the unit.”

• There is a speaker on the back of the unit, near the top, basically opposite of the LCD on the front. It's only about 5/8" across, but it's not bad. Way better than the speaker on an average mobile phone.

• Yes, the IC recorder (ICDUX523BLK) has a built-in Speaker in it.
