A Great Part of Rolling Stones history

This release is a concert the Stones played only 2 days after the death of Brian Jones. It is the first public performance with Mick Taylor on guitar. It also is one of the best live performances of Sympathy For the Devil. Fans of the early Stones will love this show. 1969 was a long time ago, but this concert a great piece of Rolling Stones history. Jagger is as good as ever in this show.

The Rolling Stones gave a free concert on July 5, 1969 in Hyde Park, London. This marked the debut of Mick Taylor on guitar, replacing Brian Jones (who died two days earlier). The performance is incendiary, to say the least. The band performs typical concert staples like Satisfaction, Jumping Jack Flash, and Honky Tonk Women. But the highlight for me is an epic Sympathy for the Devil. This is a remarkable snapshot of the a legendary band at its peak. Highly recommended.

This Hyde Park show was special in many ways. Not only was Mick Taylor new to the band, Brian Jones had just died, and there is a very special version of Sympathy for the Devil. Perhaps the best performance of that song ever. There are the first performances of songs from Let it Bleed, and a very entertaining Charlie Watts on drums. Early Stones American fans will be thrilled to see and own the Hyde Park show, it they have not already seen it.

This is as much about the death of Brian Jones and late Sixties rock festivals as it is about the music itself. But it IS the first Stones performance with Mick Taylor, albeit a shaky one. Still, you get a one-time-only performance of "I'm Your's & I'm Hers" and a unique version of "Sympathy for the Devil" ... No bonus features, though.

This DVD takes you back in time to When Rolling Stones were trying to get thru the tragic death of Brian Jones and play a huge free festival.I really like watching them play the old stuff live but what i didn't know was this was more of a documentary than a full live concert. It was still very interesting to go back in that era and learn about things that i was too young to know about when it happened.

This a great video of the Rolling Stones in their Mick Tayler days.I believe it was a concert dedicated to the late Brian Jones. The problem is this version does not contain the audio cd's that other sets have, but it is more expensive.

the begining of the most prolific era of the Rolling Stones . the only knock on this live release it could have been so much better if it were documented from start to finish in concert .
