I purchased this microwave less than 3 years ago and it just died. Everything works, it just won't heat the food! I have NEVER had a microwave fail this soon! They claim there is a 10 year warranty on the magnetron , but it does NOT cover labor, which means its almost the same price as buying a new one!!!!! All my appliances are Samsung, this is the last one I will purchase!!!!

Bad customer service

I have owned this microwave oven for 5 days now.
One of the lights that are underneath the microwave went out. No big deal right....
I called customer service to get a replacement bulb at no charge to me, so I thought. But I found out its not covered. I also found out that if it stops heating the food that also is not covered. But if the microwave blows up then it is covered.
I couldn't believe what I was hearing from the guy on the phone. You better hope you get a good one because
Samsung doesn't cover very much on there microwave ovens according to the guy I spoke to on the phone.
I never owned Samsung before I also have one of there gas ranges and have a dishwasher on order. Luck for me I bought them both from Best Buy and can return them.
Warranty is important to me and no one should get stuck with any manufacturing defects ever, little or big.
Samsung needs to rethink some of there customer service policy's.

Poor reliability ratings and it shows

I bought this microwave from BB two years ago and it stopped turning on because the door switches broke. Luckily it was covered. One year and 9 months later it turns on, timer counts down but nothing happens. Of course it's out of warranty and it will cost upwards of $200 to get it fixed by a technician. CR rated Samsung microwaves as having the highest rate of repairs and they can add this one to that list. Never buying a Samsung microwave again!

Cavity warped, took 4 months for a refund of money

The best the tech could figure out is the cavity inside my microwave warped, causing the turntable not to seat and slide all over the microwave. It took 3 tech calls to figure this out over a 3 month period to figure this out.
It took me over a month from the time the tech was here the 3rd time to finally get the paperwork for a refund of some money (not all of what I paid). I probably spent 5-6 hours on the phone, to get hung up on, not called back and tickets closed. Their "executive service" is a joke, the lady said she'd help me through e-mail since she could see I kept calling and then wouldn't respond. Finally had to put a nasty post on facebook regarding their service to get somebody to push the paperwork through.
Product worked great besides the turntable issue, but if you want good customer service look elsewhere. You will be nothing but disappointed and frustrated if you have to deal with Samsung.

Don't buy Samsung!

I will never buy a Samsung microwave again. Mine suddenly stopped heating after only 3 years. I was told that the likely culprit is the Magnetron which "luckily" is under warranty for 10 years. Samsung agreed to send a technician to my house to check out the problem. However, Samsung did not tell me that they don't cover the visit ($110!) or labor! Luckily, the technician called to warn me of this before they showed up (they must run into this a lot) so I was able to cancel. After calling Samsung back (on hold for 45 minutes), they said the only thing they could offer me was a 1-year extended warranty which would cover parts and labor. Intrigued, I said that sounded OK and asked how much. After being transferred to a "warranty specialist" (on hold for another 15 minutes), I was told that they would be happy to sell me an extended warranty....for $288! Never again Samsung!

Samsung Tech stated it is designed to only removes smoke and odors when installed as recirculating. Does not remove steam or grease. Front of Microwave gets very wet.
Ventilation system is extremely noisy.

When we were shopping for a microwave, we were surprised to find that many had a flimsy feel, particularly the doors of many felt weak and wobbly. This microwave has a solid feel, and both the interior and exterior are attractive. I particularly like the oven-like enamel on the interior. Performance has been great as well, with plenty of power and even heating. The only thing slightly unexpected is that the rotating glass tray does not sit flush with the base, so there is a wobble if you place pressure on the empty tray. Doesn't wobble while cooking and hasn't affected performance. Overall a great microwave.

Lemon Right Out of the Box!!

We bought this microwave part of a package price for black friday. We were doing renovations and didn't open it until 6 months later. Right out of the box, the LCD screen was zig zagging and malfunctioning. Would not stay lit or readable. We called Samsung, and they would only repair it. Brand new appliance and they only repair, not replace! After about 4-5 service calls with 2 different companies, either not showing up at all, or coming 7pm when a 1-4pm time frame was given, I gave up. On my honeymoon overseas, I had to call and argue with Samsung and tell them I did NOT want a FIXED microwave, when it was not even used 1 minute. Long story short, and about 1 month later of arguing and calling and failed service attempts, they agreed to authorize an exchange. THis meant paying the contractor extra to uninstall, and now reinstall a new one. Not happy at all with Samsung's customer service. Even when you call, you will never speak to a manager. If I was to do it again, I would buy the appliance suite from Whirlpool or even Frigidaire that my mom has had for 7 years and going strong. I know I must have had a lemon, but still disappointing! Customer service should be better, ESPECIALLY since I spent thousands of dollars and bought a fridge, microwave, dishwasher, oven, TV, washer and dryer ALL from samsung.

Didn't even last two years

Bought ours in December 2014, and first, the handle broke off once it was only a couple months past 1 year. This apparently happens a lot with this microwave and Samsung will happily sell you another for $30 plus $8 shipping. For a plastic handle. And that's with me installing the fix. And now, just under two years old, it has bit the dust. Won't power on. Samsung will happily come and repair it for ~$300. About $50 more than the cost of the unit. Absolute fail. Will never buy something from them again. If you do buy this, make sure to get the 5 year Best Buy extended warranty. I'll bet you a new microwave you'll need it.
