Great TV at a great price

I picked this TV up on sale for $599 (Best Buy had it on a one-day sale), and I couldn't be happier. It's a big upgrade from my older 32" LG.
The upscaling works better than expected for HD content. Standard definition content, however, looks somewhat fuzzy.
The smart TV features are quite easy to use, and the Samsung universal remote is great to use. It can even control my 3rd gen. Apple TV.
If you're considering this TV, keep in mind that it's Samsung's 2016 entry level series (6 series). You'll certainly get a better picture on higher spec. and higher price sets. However, if you're itching for a 4K TV at a reasonable price, I'd recommend this unit.

researched - a consumr rpts recommended "best buy"

71 years old and a 1st time Best Buy customer. I had researched the TV via my on-line consumer reports subscription and CC rated the TV fairly high plus it was one of their "recommended best buys". The in-store person was knowledgeable and helpful. I used the Geek Squad to wall-mount it and set it up. The two guys that came were great...again very helpful and provided us some basic instructions as well. My only beef: I had to provide my email to enroll with the Best Buy card in order to take advantage of the two-year, no-interest financing (a great deal for cash-flow) but now I get too many email ads from Best-Buy. I seldom respond to ads and only buy when I need something (may buy again from Best Buy based on this first experience) but not because of an ad. I'm never sure if the email from Best Buy is from the financing arm (and therefore possibly important) or just an ad so I can't just delete without first making sure. It's simply a nuisance to me. If y'all could cut down on the ads via email, that would be great.

Read the reviews. We are in awe of the picture quality. Going from a 7yr old LCD tv to this 4K tv, it is just a jaw dropping experience. It is hard to describe, but we can see "depth" in the picture. It's like we are watching live action shows (like when NBC did Sound of Music) or we are right there on the set with the film crew. Even watching some of the car commercials, it looks like you are inside the vehicle. It is just so hard to describe, but we are extremely satisfied with this purchase. We did go into settings and changed the picture quality from standard to dynamic. Huge difference. Navigation of apps and menus was easy in my opinion, and use of remote wasn't an issue like others have complained about.

This is by far the best TV I have ever owned, the colors really pop with some tweaking to the settings with excellent contrast ratio and really good backlighting for viewing television in a room with lots of sunlight. The smart remote is different at first but I like it the smart apps are really fluid Amazon prime Netflix and YouTube all and 4K and HDR and if you have an Xbox One S,this is the Tv for you. As soon as you plug the HDMI cable from the Xbox One S into the Samsung KU 6300 it instantly detected the Xbox One S with the smart remote being able to control your Xbox One S which is really cool when you don't feel like using the controller like when you want to watch a 4K UHD movie.

WOW....Really Happy With This TV

After owning a 50" Plasma for the last ten years, it was time to get something more modern. Just the heat savings going from a Plasma to a 4K Ultra SUHD is worth it. But more importantly, the clarity of the picture, the colors and brightness are far superior. This TV upscales even normal cable HD content to near 4K and it's stunning.
Because this is more entry level in the 4K Ultra Samsung line and doesn't have the Quantum Dot color system, off axis viewing can suffer if you're really far to the right or left. But for normal seating positions, it's simply a stunning picture. If you stream true 4K content to this TV, you will simply be blown away!
We compared it to other TV's costing more with true High Dynamic Range, and honestly if you can't see them side by side, you won't really miss anything. The value of diminishing returns is in full force with this.
We couldn't happier with this Samsung 55" 4K SUHD TV!

Extremely poor workmanship for a Samsung product

I was very disappointed with this TV. A week after buying it brand new from Best Buy the screen started flickering completely black. Although this flickering only lasted a second or so and was occasional, it nonetheless disrupted the experience. When I informed Best Buy of the problem (after getting back from a short summer vacation) they told me it was too late to get a refund / return and that I needed to deal with Samsung directly. So far 5 phone calls and 3 days later I am no closer to a resolution. I would have been happy to exchange and buy a more expensive TV from Best Buy, but after their unimpressive customer service I will get my money back from samsung (hopefully), and take my business elsewhere (definitely).

great tv, amazing picture, Prime Day price!

Just picked this 55" up from Best Buy when they matched the Prime Day sale price. It arrived today and I just got it mounted to the wall. The TV is much lighter than my old LG Plasma (50"), and the old mount that I had worked great. The picture quality on this TV blows away the picture on my LG, which was 8 years old and needed to be replaced anyway.
The initial programming of the TV was very simple, it detects connected devices (picked up my Roku and Playstation right away, and the remote controls the Roku), found the antenna for OTA channels, and then we were off and running. The picture from the OTA antenna was just so-so, but I wasn't looking at HD channels so not a fair comparison. I flipped over to the Roku and pulled up my Plex to test streaming some movies and TV shows. I had The Matrix on there, the picture quality was unreal, almost too clear. I am not used to seeing such a good picture. Even on an older show like The Pink Panther the image was crisp and clear, which was surprising given how old that show was.
Just for a test I did a little running around in Fallout 4 on the PS4, no problems at all. Super clean picture, no lag, I actually had to turn the Judder reduction down to 0 or 1 for the game, with it on Auto or turned up it made movement too fluid and clean and actually messed with the game a little.
There were a few instances of minor pixelation, but I blame that more on the source (old TV show) rather than the Samsung. I will update this review if I find anything to make it not a 5-star device, but at least for the moment I am 100% sold on this TV.

This is the 1st 4K TV that I purchased. I have another Samsung TV that works great, so staying with the same brand was a no brainer. The TV is set up to stream 4K content via YouTube or Netflix. The only issue I had was a HDMI cable 2.0 or higher is required to show 4K content from the HDMI port. Unfortunately, none of my devices is 4K compatible, so I will need to wait. When viewing YouTube 4K content via streaming, the image quality is much more life like than HD. Its almost like you are standing and seeing the event happening. I would definitely recommend this TV to someone looking for one, however, the 4K content is limited. Hopefully, in a year more shows and movies will be streaming 4K and that will make the TV even better.
