A: stoogeman, The HU7250 has a Clear Motion Rate of 960, and includes Voice Control, Smart Evolution, and has a Quad processor. This is a curved model. The HU8550 adds a Clear Motion Rate of 1200, which allows for Precision Black and an improved picture quality. Includes 4 pair of 3-D glasses. The panel is not curved. The HU8700 has a Clear Motion Rate of 1320, has Precision Black and is a curved model, also with 4 pairs of 3-D glasses. It's curved. The HU9000 adds a Quad Plus processor, which raises the Clear Motion Rate to 1440 (the highest available from Samsung this year), and adds a camera included for Skype capabilities. It adds Smart Interaction and Gesture Control. It also adds Auto Depth Enhancer features, and Samsung PurColor. And it's curved. Q: What is the One Connect Box/ Is this extra? How much is it?
A: The One Connect Box or One Connect Evolution Kit as it is formally called, allows you to upgrade your TV as new Smart Technology changes, without having to buy a whole new set. At this time, you do not need a One Connect Evolution Kit for the UN65HU8550 since it is already up to date. If you bought the 2013 Samsung F9000 or S9 UHD TV, you may need it to work with certain streaming video providers such as Net Flix. Basically it allows older TVs to use HDMI 2.0, HDCP 2.2, MHL 3.0 and the HEVC codec specifications. Supposedly, Samsung will release new One Connect Evolution kits as needed to upgrade previous model TVs to the current standards. The cost is about $400.
Q: How come Samsung doesn't list the htz for the ultra 4k TV's
A: I bought the 65" 8550 model UHD TV and it is indeed 120Hz refresh. The CMR is 1200 and I have not noticed any blurring as to refer that it should be a 240Hz instead of a 120Hz. I watch a lot of sports on it and I can say I am totally satisfied with the picture quality.
