Q: What is the over all width?
A: It is about 68" wide side to side. It is 10" wider and 4" taller than my 58" Samsung Plasma.
Q: How do I see a live demonstration of this item?
A: I too wanted to see this before I spent $10k on it. Because of the limited quantity and cost they are not set up in stores as demos. I have had 2 other Samsung tvs and the 9100 has a picture close to the js9500 . All I can say the picture and color are beautiful. You might take a look at the Samsung JS 9500 65", the 78" is just bigger.

Q: Soap Opera Effect/Deep blacks?
A: Hey Steve. Sorry to respond so late. There are so many options on this TV it is incredible. There is a setting that will allow the TV to have a "Soap Opera" effect, but there are also settings that will take that away and still have the realistic view and effect. Again, with the settings - I set mine up to have excellent black color depth while maintaining excellent brights and contrasts. It has been my experience so far that the settings make all the difference - there are numerous pre-defined settings, but you can also set it up exactly how you want - I use different settings for different viewings (ex: movies vs. sports).
