This Samsung case flips open, allowing you to easily access your Samsung Galaxy Note 3 cell phone's display, and flips closed, letting you keep your device's screen protected during transport. The S-view window enables an interactive experience.
Cool looking but flawed
Posted by: Fuzer from: Maine on
This case seems very cool until you actually try to use it. It's biggest shortcoming is that there is no kind of clasp or strap to hold the front cover closed which totally defeats it's purpose. Drop it and the front cover can flop open leaving the screen totally vulnerable to damage. The next problem is that it is very difficult to hold with the front cover folded over against the back. When you're holding it in this position, it's hard to judge if you're gripping the phone or the edge of the front cover, which is totally free to swing loose. It's very tenuous and I feel like I'm going to drop it. They really should have put some kind of Velcro strip to hold the front cover securely to the back when it's in this position. Next, the edges of the case are not smooth and drag against the material of your clothing as you try to slide it into a pocket. I actually have to use two hands sometimes to get it into my pocket sometimes. And lastly, the pictures taken with the cover closed are not the same as with it open. They are the same square shape as the window in the cover and smaller in size. If you want full size wide pictures, you have to take them with the cover hanging down and that's very awkward, and again, tenuous. You could take them with the front cover folded over the back through the glass window, but if you do so using the flash, the flash reflects off the window and leaves the picture with a blue haze over it. This case is a really nice idea, and might be ok with some modifications such as Velcro to hold the front cover open and closed, but as is, it's really very tenuous and unpleasant to use.

I got the note 3 when it first came out, and was soon disappointed to learn that best buy didn't have cases available for purchase. A week later I went back and they had two, a white one and a black one. Considering my phone is white I stuck with the white one, and also because you could see the texture on the black one, and it was noticeably plastic when it's supposed to look like leather. I was pleasantly surprised to find out that the back of the case locks onto the phone, so there's no chance of the phone coming out of the case. However, the front flap won't stay shut when I put my phone down and its quite annoying when I'm trying to use my keyboard. The clear plastic on the front smudges easily, and looks like it's prone to acquire dirt and dust. Over all the case is somewhat sturdy, providing no real protection if the phone was dropped, and is quite expensive but looks nice. If you a prone to dropping your phone a lot, don't buy this case.

Very elegant, very classy
Posted by: neka48 from: Florida on
Just got this case as soon as it was available, (two days ago). Now a love my Galaxy note 3 even more, it makes it look classier, and I don't have to be on needles about scratches on the screen. Not bulky at all, gives it a great grasp. To receive calls, take pictures and use the action memo you don't have to open or flip the cover... Got it in black, very elegant!!! Very happy I got it, it was worth the wait.

This case is perfect. Read on another site that this case doesn't fit the phone or doesn't close. It does fit and closes perfectly on the phone. Remove all packaging plastic, pull on snug and it works fine. It cost more but the phone isn't for low budgets anyway--standard s-view price. Case provides adequate screen protection. If you want more you'll need an bulky case like otterboxes...but Those aren't my style. I love it it's pretty and will buy in pink when it's available in US.

cute but not functional
Posted by: techgirl55 from: on
I like the color options, especially the white. The material is good quality. However, for the value of $40+, one would expect a higher quality built phone case for the Note 3. The S-view cover would not snuggly close ttight. During the initial accidental drop, my phone fell out of the case and even the battery fell out. This proves to me that this case cover is not worth the price. I am taking this junk back to Best Buy for my full return before the 15 days expiration on returns. In the meanwhile, I'd rather wait for the wireless charging S-view cover to be released by Samsung since I'm going to pay for a high-end case cover anyway. Good luck to all those who are willing to endure such a cheaply made; low quality phone case like this one. I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND THIS PURCHASE.

Clean and Light

This case adds a very nice look and feel to the phone. The screen Window is extremely useful, you can see texts, answer phone calls, make a quick memo/note, play music, see your daily steps and a few more all without opening the flap. It does stay shut one toy use it for a while and not force it behind the phone. The corners of the case extend out from the edges it which adds protection however if you drop it with the flap open there won't be any protection. You can also customize the color of the screen Window and have it automatically unlock your phone when you flip it open.

buy a different cover
Posted by: GuillermoNRH from: North Richland Hills, TX on
I bought this cover thinking it was a cool accessory, but after 30 days I don't really like that much, the cover springs open, you have to lay it face down for it to close, the S-view window is cool, but its hard to turn the device on with the cover closed.

Overpriced, has cheap feel.
Posted by: mitchellvii from: Charlotte, NC on
Wow, $60? Really? This case feels VERY cheap in the hand. For $60 I want some real leather or even quality fake leather. That's not the worst part. There is no oleophobic coating on the cover window. That means that it quickly gets covered in finger oils and doesn't wipe off easily. Nasty.
One thing people don't realize about this kind of case. If grit or sand gets under the cover it will grind against your screen and scratch it. Better off just getting a 9+ hardness tempered glass screen protector for $10 and a solid drop-proof case (because you WILL drop your phone). I recommend the Platinum Series with kickstand. Wait for it to go on sale.

Expensive but great product!

I picked up the white Note 3 two days after its release and was bothered that I couldn't find a decent case for it so I had been using a regular jelly/TPU case until the flip view covers attracted my eye.
First off, I love the feel of this. It's a different material than the original back cover to the Note 3. The stitching is real and it's more like a pleather than a plastic made to look like leather. The functionality is basic, you can choose to view your steps/weather and if you swipe to the right, you get access to your music, action memo, and camera. You can answer/reject calls without having to open up the case and the S Pen works just fine through the window.
The one major downside is just the price. For how much you're paying, you would expect more customization but since the Note 3 is already a premium device, it's something that does protect your investment. There's a slight edge around the phone that will take the damage if you drop it on one of the corners. I've gotten many compliments on it and love the pink color with my white phone so overall, I'd recommend this!
