Q: any problems returning to base before running out of battery
A: I have the same problem, half way through cleaning it stopped returning to the base and just dies. Worked great for a long time but now it doesn't. What was your remedy for the problem?
Q: How does this compare to the roomba with dog hair? With a lab the hair is everywhere!
A: I have a German Shepard that sheds all year around and it picks up a lot of hair on each cleaning. That's the good part the bad is I have to empty the dust collector after every cleaning. The brush does not seem to wrap up with hair the way the Roomba does. I have had this one for about 3 weeks and have not had to remove the brush to clean yet.
Q: run time on hardwood floors
A: Well with this specific model the run time is about 30min and it does my entire house and they goes back itself to charge. It does two bedrooms, living/dining and kitchen, about 1,200 sq ft.
Q: How long is the warranty coverage on the Samsung powerbot R7040?
A: Samsung offers 1 year on the robot vacuum.
Q: Does the 7040 self clean the brush? I have very long hair that gets tangled on vac brushes.
A: The brush is not self cleaning. But, I pull out anything wrapped around the brush each time I empty the bin. It's easier than unwrapping hair from the brush on my regular vacuum and I do it frequently, so it's not bad.
A: It does not include boundary markers in the box. You have to purchase them separately.
Q: Do you have to have WiFi to run this?
A: No, WiFi isn't required but it does make the experience better. It comes with a remote that you use to set everything up without WiFi. If you have WiFi you can use the Samsung smart home app to control it from anywhere and get notifications of its progress.
Q: Will this automatically avoid stairs?
A: Yes, I have an open stairwell, it has never gone down.
