Large capacity refrigerator but has a few flaws

Purchased this model as a replacement for the previous model which broke due to freezer sensor being ripped out due to poor placement of the freezer sensor. Very happy with the size and layout of the fridge and I love the middle drawer, as well as the showcase door. That is why I bought the newer model of this refrigerator. However, the ice maker is really small (typical with new refrigerators these days), and the top freezer drawer inside the freezer drawer does not come out all the way which is different from previous model. This makes it really hard to put ice trays in the top drawer if your family makes additional ice.
Beware of freezer sensor - it is located on the ceiling of the freezer with a cap that protrudes (it is not flush with the ceiling). If the cap pops off, there is a possibility that the freezer sensor can be ripped from unit if it gets stuck on food. If this happens, the refrigerator can not be repaired. Luckily my previous model was still under warranty and I was able to replace it. As long as you know where the freezer sensor is and what to watch out for, you should be fine.

I was debating between a Samsung and a LG refrigerator. I had a LG and was not happy with their products. I finally decided on this model due to not only the looks and features but to the great reviews. Some of the reviews stated that it was noisy,I find I can hardly hear that it is running. Also they say the ice is loud, I find it is not any louder than any other ice maker.
This is a huge, amazing refrigerator. So much space for everything! aAnd boy is it bright! Things seem extra cold, not like my old fridge. Some of the features I didn't think I'd like were the Showcase door and the Flexzone drawer. Well, I was so wrong! I love the showcase door, everything my hubby uses right there for a quick reach! And the flexzone drawer is fantastic! No more yelling at the husband to shut the door!!! I also like the convenience of the flip up shelf and the sliding shelf! So very glad I went with Samsung!!! It is so much nicer than the LG. Yes I am so happy with our purchase.

Dejected Samsung Fan

Today (Nov 14th 2015) was my refrigerator delivery and best buy was prompt in delivering. Happy with their service so far.
The main let down came when we switched on the refrigerator. It made a loud drilling like noise. The delivery/installation guy(s) said it might be just setting itself up [didn't make any sense]. the Sound stopped as soon as I opened the door. Me and my spouse mistook it for initial setup noise and things will be fine. It had been few hours the delivery guys left, the noise will not stop. My neighbors stopped by to check it I was drilling the wall or something. I had to switch off the refrigerator and call up Best buy for issue resolution. I didn't want to hate this machine - but, I do now. my spouse researched further and found out that these twin cooler systems have these issue and Even Samsung has in their support site for "Fan-hitting something (noise) and stops when the door is opened" sort of link - where they ask to stop the refrigerator and call support immediately.
I would have accepted this if this was an issue after I had spent few months with the machine - not on the very first switch on. This thing sure needs to go. Samsung should address this design / quality flaw as soon possible if they need to retain their customer satisfaction.

My most valuable suggestion: Buy the 5 yr extended warranty. So many things like showcase door latch, and ice maker could wrong and render the product half useless that it is well worth it.
My only complaint is not product related, but with the 3rd party delivery company Best Buy outsources to. After 3 attempts, my fridge was finally delivered.
On to the product:
-Slide out bottom shelf for showcase
-Separate selection buttons for water and ice (opposed to 2 levers)
-Easy to maintain stainless
-Great center drawer with 4 pre selected temp zones
-Fast ice maker
-Convenient filter replacement at waist level
-Fully adjustable quadrant pull out drawer
-Wish ice maker would be incorporated into door, thus freeing up more fridge space
-Possible improvement on more pull out shelves on showcase
-More stainless shelving inside fridge
-Soft closing drawers would be a nice added feature in future models
Time will tell what components requires maintenance. I will update as necessary. Feel free to comment and ask any questions...will be happy to answer to best of my ability.

Beautiful unit, Best Buy Delivery & set up was terrible. Damaged/scratches on top French Doors, bottom freezer door. Contacting Best Buy customer service was difficult, I ended up going back to the store to resolve the damage issues, they took care of us. I couldnt wait 2 days for another replacement unit. The delivery was like a hit and run accident! I wish Best Buy did not sub-contract delivery. The purchase was smooth and simple. Ice maker & Water dispenser takes up a lot of space in left upper French door. Leveling legs are hard to adjust. Samsung did a nice job! My wife is very happy. I will not purchase another major appliance until Best Buy does their own delivery and install by Geek Squad! I have three more appliances to replace in the very near future. We will not go through another nightmare like we did on the refrigerator delivery! It's sad, because we like the Samsung products and Best Buy. I want to purchase from our local Best Buy in Victorville, the sales and staff there take good care of our family and are always very friendly and helpful.

Beautiful but Noisy

We were very impressed with the new black stainless finish and loved this refrigerator. The first one that was delivered made very loud popping noises many times during the day. Sometimes it was so loud that it would wake you at night.
Best Buy was very good about replacing the refrigerator and it still makes popping sounds but not nearly as loud as the first one. Samsung says that these noises are normal expansion and contraction noises but I have had many refrigerators over the years and have never encountered this kind of noise in any other refrigerator I have owned. I only hope that the noises don't get louder over time or I will be looking for a replacement.

Really like this refrigerator, we've had it a month so far and it hasn't disappointed (hopefully will continue to run much longer than our last which only lasted 7.5 years). It's quiet and keeps things nice and cold/frozen. We removed one shelf to provide more space for tall items, the modular design of the shelves is nice. One recommendation, when they deliver make sure they take off the doors before they bring it in to your house. They will complain but the finish dents EASILY and it will save you the hassle of having them replaced.

We bought this fridge about a month ago, and I really love the storage space in it. The flexible shelves make it easier to store taller things, such as drink pitchers. The ice dispenser makes ice pretty often, so that is nice. The food showcase door provides easy access to certain items, such as milk and soda. And the flex zone drawer is nice to put drinks and snacks for the kids and some deli items too. I never had a freezer on the bottom before and I thought it would be difficult to find things, but there is a separator that helps keep your items sorted, plus the drawer on top helps to organize things too. And I can keep my little ice packs in the shelf on the freezer door. Great fridge overall!!!

I've read the reviews about the one problem this model had (faulty internal fan), but there weren't many of them so I decided to go ahead with the purchase (there was an AMAZING deal on black Friday).
Well, with my luck being what it is, I got one with this defect.
Fortunately, I purchased GeekSquad protection, and was able to get it fixed relatively quickly (if you're unsure, get the protection. My repair bill would've been 350 bucks).
Now, the fridge is amazing. Super quiet, very efficient, lots of room and organization options. Would definitely recommend.

2 year update: why did we buy it?

After 15 years we finally decided to replace our old refrigerator. After walking through the best buy store we feel in love with the design of this samsung refrigerator. Ours is an older model but looks exactly like the one shown. The design was gorgeous, the compartments were fantastic and it was a samsung. We knew the brand was reliable for things like phones and TVs and we were a little skeptical buy we went with it and we are not ones to buy warranty we always thought it was a waste of money but something told me let's just get it since we weren't familiar with Samsung in the appliance arena. A couple days later after we got our beautiful fridge I was showing a friend and she looked at me like oh boy. She said she bought the same one a year prior and it was already giving her problems and she regretted not buying the warranty. After my stomach dropped for a second I felt a sense of relief cause we bought the warranty.
This fridge is quite a bit of work. You need the extensive filter every other month it seems like and about 8 months ago All of a sudden it went caput. The ice machine was acting slowly and water tasted different. New filter? Maybe ok let's change it again. But over time we noticed the ice doesn't work as well as it use too, the water started tasting different and the temperature in the fridge started to change. We thought we were crazy but in the last two months it went totally downhill. No ice. Barely water but im not drinking it and the fridge isn't cold anymore. We decided to empty the whole fridge from top to bottom and disconnect it maybe a reboot if you will would help. Nope. Same performance. Finally I called our warranty and they came out 2 days later. He technician stated we needed new parts for the ice maker and the something about the fridge not knowing it's cold I cant remember. Why i cant remember because this was 3 weeks ago!!!!
Parts are on back order till the 25th of this month and we are forced to be without a workin fridge. I'm pregnant with a 5 year old. Never again will we ever buy samsung for appliances. I'm sticking to phones and TVs.
My recommendation. Do not buy. Stick to the old reliables.
