I heard good things about this move over the years so I decided to buy it. I think if I'd seen it 14 years ago I would of liked it more, back before Disney was making Pirates of the Carribian movies and before Marvel and DC super hero movies were popular. It just seems like a mash-up between Kill Bill, Death Proof, Pulp Fiction...in black and white. Maybe I'm tired of hearing all this stuff about Tarantino's production company. Other than that it looks great for B & W but I suppose most of us don't buy nice big 2160p TV's to watch black and white movies. The actors performances I thought stood out were Mickey Rourke and the female actor that sat in the back seat of that 1971 Dodge Challenger with Zoe Bell hanging on the hood in Death Proof, sorry don't know her name. I didn't know it was based on a comic book until I watched some of the special features. I'd probably watch it again, I'd like to see the 148 minute version of it, maybe I'd enjoy it more.

By now we must be used to movies being based on comic books, not just superheroes but also serious themes like ROAD TO PERDITION. However, none have the style that Frank Miller embeds to this adaptation of his graphic novels. Of course, he was helped by the genius of Quentin Tarantino and, most importantly, Robert Rodriguez. Extremely violent, sexually charged, yet, incredibly good. not for the faint of heart, but for the daring it is highly recommended.
