Q: Will this player stream from Amazon Instant Video? If not, are there any on the market that will?

A: This player does not support Amazon Instant Video at the time of this posting. However, the BD-F5900 model will support Amazon Instant Video. All of the Samsung products that support Amazon Instant Video can be found here: http://www.samsung.com/us/appstore/app/G00009411006-compatible#Bluray Players Thanks for your interest in Samsung Blu-Ray players. --Mr. Samsung

Q: Does this play DVDs wirelessly?

A: Yes, it's wired to the TV. It connects to Wifi to download content. It doesn't wirelessly connect to a smart TV. I don't know of any disc player that does that. Chromecast only works on a computer that's using the chrome browser.

Q: Does this DVD player only play Blue Ray DVD's?

A: It plays both regular dvd's and blue ray's

Q: Is wifi required to play discs with this player?

A: No. The player functions work independent of the internet functions.

Q: Is it has web browser to watch or navigate websites?

A: Nope. It's misleading about what it has. There are certain apps installed like Netflix and Hulu. You can stream through those, but there's no browser to just go to whatever site you want to stream, nor can you install new apps. Booo.

Q: Photos from Phone

A: It's a Blu Ray not DVD but yes, you need the correct HDMI cord or adapter but it should work. Also the Blu Ray has wifi so this may be an option as well. I haven't personally tried this yet.

Q: can you coonect this to a home theater sound system or speakers?

A: This Blu-Ray player can be connected to a Home Theater system. The unit itself doesn't power the speakers - rather, it would connect to an audio receiver that can amplify the audio signal so that there's power for the speakers. A receiver with an HDMI pass-through, or by using the Coaxial Digital Audio Out jack are the two ways this can be connected to a receiver. Thanks for your support of Samsung products. --Mr.Samsung

Q: Does the netflix app include closed captioning?

A: Yes it does, but it's not for all films, I think that's on Netflix's part though.
