Was it goodbye for the price
Posted by: dank1373 from: on
The stereo in itself for the price was an amazing bye but it left a lot lacking 4 any additional equipment to be added butt a good stereo for a novice or somebody who just likes to listen to music at a comfortable level

Nice features, but can be unreliable
Posted by: Malk from: on
This has some great features including bluetooth, pandora, and a flash drive input. My only real complaints (other than the issue we had with the first two of these we bought coming with components missing from the box!) are that toggling between inputs can be a bit cumbersome and the Bluetooth can be a bit unreliable. The device has 7 different possible inputs and only one toggle switch, so if you are like me and mostly just switch back and forth between 2 inputs, then you have to hit the toggle button a bunch of times to scroll through everything in between. Most importantly though, the Bluetooth seems to have reception issues. If I have the AC turned up past the lowest setting the mic has a harder and harder time picking up my voice. Also the device seems more susceptible to weak cell signal than talking on the phone directly as I used to use earbuds with a microphone when using the phone in my car before we bought this, and took the exact same route to work and back, and it is noticeably worse now for reception problems.

Blue tooth only works maybe half the time.
Posted by: Bill from: on
Sometimes when I start the car, blue tooth works, other times it doesn't. Who knows what's wrong with this thing. Buy something better, from a company that specializes in car audio equipment. Sony isn't it, and their support isn't useful. I'm either going to tear this thing out and return it, or buy an AUX cable for my phone and learn my lesson about cheap blue tooth radios. Having blue tooth only sometimes is irritating.

Great Bluetooth radio with many options to listen to your music from phone, mp3, etc. Take note. This is a tuner, Bluetooth, Aux, and USB only. No CD player. For me this is great for my commute to work. One warning, if you have it connected to your phone through the Bluetooth and someone calls you, the ringtone can be really jarring. It is a cool feature to hear your call through the car speakers, just make sure your phone mike is close enough for them to hear you talking.

Ok, but has some issues.
Posted by: Fadetonite from: on
I bought this to be able to use all forms of media for music. This had everything, even a great price. After installing it took awhile to get the sound set the way I like it as the menu's are not the most intuitive. After getting everything set I enjoyed it for a day. Then for some reason it stopped playing sound. After shutting everything off it came back on. However my phone wouldn't sync. After resyncing my phone it worked for another week or so flawlessly, then the same issue cropped up again. I pulled the radio thinking it was something with the wiring but everything was good and secure. Not really sure what is up, or if I just got a bad one. Sad because this replaced another Sony I had for over 6 years that never gave me a problem. For the price its worth it if you do not run into the issue I have as it has every feature you need for the digital age. Hopefully I just got a dud but I waited to long to return it.

I was looking for something that just works. I had the Sony MEX-N5100BT before this unit and it had bells and whistles but the "Open App" feature on that thing was annoying. There was no way of disabling it and all I wanted was simple, get in the car and automatically play my music with my iPhone via bluetooth without any additional press of a button. I know the DSXA400BT doesn't have a CD capability and doesn't play MP3 CD but who even use them anymore? Maybe for some, but my iPhone is always with me and I always set my playlist from using Spotify and playlist. Carrying CD is just another media I have to worry about. This unit is simple. If you like to stream from your phone via Bluetooth and where you left off from your playlist, this is the unit. It just work and very convenient. If you want bells and whistles, look elsewhere.

Good Product for the Price
Posted by: Rwilli from: on
For the price, this unit does just fine. My main reason for purchasing this unit was for Bluetooth. IL law requires hands free calling, so this was a must for my older truck.
The mic is ok, but I'm told background noise is pretty loud.

Great CD player and easy to install on your own!
Posted by: Warmaster from: on
This is my first Bluetooth car radio and I was skeptical at first. After a few days of not having to plug my phone in and out every time I used my car I was ecstatic. Great CD player and it's nice if you have a iPhone because it caters to it.
