How can you make a voice recorder with no means to transfer the files to anything else? This thing is totally useless. Buy the $50 model.

A microcassette recorder from the 80's would allow you to save your audio recordings.
Give Sony their pound of flesh and buy the more expensive one with USB. (That one works well)

Only giving 3 stars because I wasn't aware that you cannot save the audio file of your recordings! But the voice is very loud and clear and crisp to the ear.

My wife passed away in 2014. I purchased the digital recorder so that I could preserve her voice. I used it to record a copy of her voicemail msg rom both her cell phone and our land line. It is the only memory I have of her voice. The recorder will be inside a shadowbox with her wedding dress, and other wedding memorabilia.

Unfunctional Beyond Device Itself
Posted by: KenW from: on
Although the quality of recorded sound on this device is excellect, it cannot be transferred to any other device. No transferring of files. What is recorded STAYS in the device. On top of that, if you record several things, or various things, it is a nightmare to try to find it again. No fast forward. Also, you cannot add files to this for future use....no in or out of this device. I know it has a purpose, but is so extremely limited, it should be discontinued as a product totally.
While this device now collects dust, I purchased a similar device from Sony that you can transfer files off of and it is what I need. Sadly the advertising for this does not allow for rotation of the product. Since I previously had a similar product that you could transfer files, I believed it was the same, as it has the same appearance from the front. With a proper photo that I could rotate, I would have never wasted my time or money on this. All thumbs down on this product.

Too expensive for something that won't connect to the computer

I needed an audio recorder that I could transfer recordings to a computer afterwards and this one didn't allow me to move the files.

A great little digital recorder
Posted by: BerryBell from: on
This recorder shipped to me quickly. It's so easy to use and the sound quality is quite fine. Batteries last a long time. I like the automatic off feature, which is nice to have to avoid any accidental battery use. It's easy to turn on and off as well. I'm very happy with this purchase.

Drains batteries in 3 days
Posted by: Nursingstudent2016 from: on
I have used an entire 8 pack of triple A batteries in the past 4 weeks. After recording lectures and playing them back while studying, I always have to replace the old batteries with new ones. Im using Duracell batteries, not any cheap off brand batteries. This recorder drains them.

Can use to spy on house too. Inexpensive way to make sure things are not going crazy in the house.
