Q: Can you view this system with tv or do you need a computer monitor?
A: Yes you can use a television, computer or even a smart phone. My husband likes the idea of checking the house when we are away.
Q: Do the Swann systems sold at best by come with an install card?
A: I installed myself in about two hrs including setting up cameras
Q: does the dvr have built in wifi
A: It uses an ethernet cord to send data. A 59 foot cord is included.
Q: how can i get the dvr to go wireless internet or wifi
A: Please disregard my previous statement. You will need to purchase a Wifi range extender. They are about the same price as a router.
Q: Can I send video over Internet to my Windows 7 laptop in another building?
A: You can use a computer (or even a smart phone) to monitor what is going on in your house while you are away.
Q: Can I add a camera with a mic. and record sound?
A: Yes, but I am not impressed with the audio quality.
A: No - almost all CCTV cameras are usable - most use the same type of power (5V low amp). Additional wiring is necessary to add the Zoom function. Cameras with zoom function on the market typically known as PTZ - point, tilt, zoom - where you can remotely control them around (nearly) 720 degrees.
