Hard Rock Beginnings
Gov't Mule were a throwback side project for Warren Hayes that morphed into a full blown band. The idea was to explore the power trio format, popular in the late 1960s and early 1970s but out of favor largely since. These are the first 'demos' from 1994 - before the band really had time to road test the material, and they are sharper and harder than the album versions that later appeared. The drumming in particular is more aggressive, although the mix is loud and proud over all. An excellent look into the true 'birth of the mule'.

Govt Mule:A great and raw beginning
Been a fan of Warren Haynes for a long time, even before he formed Govt Mule. Read about this release in the trades and just had to buy it.These are the previously unreleased sessions of the Mule insetting to know who they are and the results are terrific. Arguably better than their first released ( and self titled ) CD. Nice to hear more of the late Allen Woody,He passed way to early in the career of Govt Mule. Excellent CD,get it.

Warren Haynes Rules
The main Member of Gov't Mule is Warren Haynes he is a force to be reckoned with. He was with the Allman Brothers for ten years while still having his own group. Put out two solo albums so needless to say he is a busy man.. This a very fine collection of songs well written and played to perfection. Met him he is a nice guy.

Incredible
What a great release from Government Mule! I can't believe these songs weren't available sooner! As far I'm concerned, this is the kind of good old rock/blues mix that is capable of reachingredients a vast audience and standing the test of time over several years, even decades! Brilliant!

Birth of a band
These are the first recordings by Gov't Mule, a power trio along the lines of Cream. The talent can be heard throughout this cd, though sadly Allen Woody would pass away years down the line. Well worth for all Mule fans to hear their beginnings.
