Creating and Managing Your List
How do I create a Best Buy® List?

To create a list, you need to be signed in to your BestBuy.com® account. If you don't have one, you can create an account. Creating an account is free and also gives you access to My Best Buy® member benefits. Learn more about My Best Buy.

Once you've signed in or created your account, there are a few ways to create your list.

From BestBuy.com:

  • From your account navigation (found by hovering over your name), select Lists, then select Create a New List.
  • From your account, select the Wish Lists option from the Lists section, then select Create a New List.
  • From our top navigation, select Gift Ideas, then select Wish Lists.

From Best Buy mobile app:

  1. Open your Best Buy mobile app. If you do not have the app, text GETAPP to 332211* to download the Best Buy mobile app, or download it from your app store.
  2. From the more tab on iOS or side navigation on Android, select Registries & Gifts.
  3. Under the Create heading, select Wish List.

From BestBuy.com and Best Buy mobile app:

  1. Sign in to your BestBuy.com account.
  2. Browse for items you want to add.
  3. If you're using a desktop or tablet, click the Add to List button on an item's product details page and then choose the list you would like to add the item to, or select Create a new list, then select Add Item. If you're using the Best Buy mobile app, select the Add to button on an item's product detail page and then select Wish List.

From Best Buy stores:

  1. Open your Best Buy mobile app. If you do not have the app, text GETAPP to 332211* to download the Best Buy mobile app, or download it from your app store.
  2. Sign in to your BestBuy.com account.
  3. Open your list from the More tab on iOS or side navigation on Android and select Add Gifts and then select Start Scanning.
  4. Scan the QR code on the price tag or bar code on the item's packaging to add an item to your list. If the item is eligible to be added to your list, you will be directed to the item's product details page. From there, select Add Gift to Wish list.

Please note that adding an item to a list does not hold or reserve the item, and the price of the item is subject to change. Some items are excluded from our List program, including devices or products that require a plan.

Yes, you can have up to 20 lists, each with up to 50 items. However, you can only have one wedding registry at a time.

Your list will be available until you delete it.

Within your list, select Share to choose from Facebook, Twitter, Google+, Pinterest or e-mail.

After signing in to your BestBuy.com account, you can access your list within the Lists section of your account, or by selecting Lists from your account navigation (found by hovering over your name).

If you would like to modify your list information to update your settings or event details, select Settings in the upper-right corner of your list.

Your unique List ID helps guests more quickly locate your list. Whereas searching for a list by name may return many results, searching by List ID will bring you or people looking to purchase from your list directly to your list.

When you or your guests purchase list items in a store, sales associates will scan the QR code to link the purchase to your list. This process helps ensure you don't receive duplicate gifts by accurately reflecting which items from your list have been purchased. The QR codes associated with your list can be found by clicking your List ID link.

If an item on your list is discontinued, or no longer available, it will be removed from the list and you will see a notification that includes recommendations for similar items.

Yes. You can delete a list at any time within your list settings. Please remember that deleting a list is permanent and you will not be able to access your list again, nor will it be searchable.

Keeping Track of Your Gifts

Yes, but the processes for online and in-store purchases differ slightly.

  • Online purchases: The item being purchased must be added to the cart from your list. Once the purchase has been made, your list will be automatically updated to reflect the purchase.
  • In-store purchases: A list QR code must be scanned by a sales associate to link the purchase to the list. It may take up to an hour for in-store purchases to be reflected on your list.
List Visibility

When you create your list, you are given the option to make your list searchable through Best Buy.

  • Selecting Yes: Your list will be searchable on our website, mobile app and in store kiosks.
  • Selecting No: Your list will be hidden from our search unless you provide guests with your List ID, but you will still be able to personally share your list.

You can change this setting in your list settings at any time.

Shipping & Returns

When people purchasing from your list select a shipping address during checkout, we will only show the city and state from the shipping address you provided.

If you have items on your list that require scheduled delivery, people purchasing the item will not be able to schedule the delivery when they place their order. After they make their purchase, we will contact you within 48 hours by e-mail and phone to schedule delivery.

Yes. You can return or exchange most list items up to 15 days after they were purchased. See our Return & Exchange Promise for full details.

For Gift Buyers

The easiest way to find a list is to search our website, mobile app or in-store kiosk using the first and last name of the list owner. Your search terms must be an exact match, so be sure you are entering their name correctly.

You may also search using the List ID provided by the list owner, which will bring you directly to their list.

  • In-store purchases: When purchasing a gift in-store, have the sales associate scan the list QR code on the printout to link the purchase to the list. If you do not have the printout with you, you can find the list QR code in the list's List ID link from your mobile device. It may take up to an hour for in-store purchases to be reflected on the list.

Note: Linking your purchase to the list helps prevent receiving duplicate gifts.

Yes, if the person who creates the list provides us with an address they would like their gifts sent to, you will be able to choose to send gifts directly to that address during checkout.

Yes. During the checkout process online, you will be asked if you want to include a gift message.

If a gift is eligible for a Geek Squad Protection Plan, you will be able select a protection plan for the gift in your cart when purchasing from BestBuy.com or a Best Buy store.

Any plan is transferable to another owner for the product identified by the serial number on the plan. There are no restrictions provided your plan is valid, but a plan cannot be transferred to another product. As the purchaser, you are the owner of the plan. You can transfer your plan to the person you're buying the gift for during the plan's coverage period, as long as the plan does not have an open claim. Gift packaging is a feature available only online. If your product is eligible, you will be offered gift packaging as an option in checkout. Some items cannot be gift packaged because of their shape or large size. For more information, see our Gift Packaging Frequently Asked Questions.
