Q: what is the ditance from stand to stand lengthwise?
A: 39inches.
Q: Does this TV have 4k upscaling?
A: Yes. I went from and LCD to this LED, so I don't know if my Bluray movies look better because of the LED light or the upscaling, but they look amazing. All video sources show full screen by default.
Q: Best settings for this TV to get the best out of the picture?
A: I just posted my review and I greatly enhanced my picture by following 3 tips from Consumer Reports - I turned off noise reduction, I ran sharpness down to zero and I turned off the anti-judder feature of motion smoothing. I know it sounds counter-intuitive to turn them off, but those three things really made a difference. I also turned down the brightness a little but now we're just getting into personal preference. Try it, you can always reset if these don't work for you.

A: I have had the same problem with two Vizios now. They broke after lesss than two years. I googled "troubleshooting Vizio televisions" and it a big problem with them. You will need to get a new television.

Q: What is the difference between the m49-c1 model and the m50-c1
A: The 49 inch set uses a different display technology---IPS---rather than the VA on the 50 inch. The 50 inch technology will provide better contrast while the IPS panel will provide slightly better viewing angles. If you do not plan to view from extreme angles, definitely purchase the superior display technology of the 50 inch.
