Good picture and sound quality. Good lessons for the young ones. Each monster represents the emotions and doubts that young children experience and have to learn to deal with.

Who knew that a movie based on a children's book could deliver the emotional impact this movie offers?

Rated for an adult audience, this movie is perfectly dark and artistic with a heartfelt center. However, considering this is a child's film, the darker tone may be too unsettling for younger viewers. It definitely has its fun, humorous moments, but there's a seriousness that provokes a constant unease. I personally love it, but I'm 25 and enjoy depth and grit. My seven year old sister not so much. The 'wild things' scared her. So I say watch it for sure, but be wary of letting your children do so unless you think they can handle more mature themes.
