A: I believe it is 6-8 ohm stable, no need to adjust any setting. It will actually make more power at 6 ohms.
Q: how do I control my bass and treble?
A: undefined
A: It does have the capability of two zones however it's not easily defined or as user-friendly as it's been on previous models.
A: You would be far better off getting an optical cable. Even if this would work (unlikely), it would require lots of remote control configuration every time you turned on the TV.
Q: Do you need a separate box for a subwoofer?
A: Most subwoofers are in their own box, with their own amplifier, so they can run from the line level signal provided from this receiver. Of course, you don't have to use a subwoofer if your main speakers provide enough bass.
A: A multi CD player should work fine. Some have HDMI ouputs and some have RCA connectors. Either should work. It has two zones that can work independently, or together in "party mode". There is also a Bluetooth output that can work from the main zone (I'm not sure of it can also work drone zone 2).
A: If your player and TV have special modes and enough inputs, it's best to connect them directly. You may have to find another path for the audio signal. Some players have a second HDMI and some use optical cables or other connections. You may also be able to connect the signal from the tv output to the receiver. Just make sure whatever path you take supports the best surround modes.
