77mm UV Lens Filter

This filter serves as a protection against scratches, dust and water. Also used as a UV filter with the sun behind your back. It doesn't work shooting toward the sun and it will give a glare or ghost like image in the photo... So I take it off the lens. Some people swear by these filters, and some don't even want them on their lenses Ever.. It goofs up the focusing on AF... they say. I leave my filter on most of the time, there are some times I will take it off, but it goes right back on again for protection.. This size filter (77 mm) goes on a large reach zoom lens for wild life photography is the reason I bought this. While out in the woods and fields, brush and corn cobs hitting my lens all the time while I walk through. So I wanted protection over the lens so I don't damage the outer glass..... Thank You.

Skylight filters aren't the sexiest purchases you can make, but they are some of the smartest ones. The filter does virtually nothing for your photos, but it does provide a level of protection to your lens, keeping it a little safer from dirt, rain and flying debris. It truly is a cheap insurance policy for your very expensive lenses. The Insignia filter does a great job in this role, and is priced very reasonably as well. If I needed a skylight for another lens, I'd be happy to get another Insignia.

Too bad I had to order a 77mm filter because you only stock little ones. Professionals need a place for quick shopping. The filter is high quality, thin and just what I wanted. Location is central to this entire region.

UV filters on the lens is clear, and lets through only some of the UV light. Works like a charm. Also protects the outer lens glass from scratches, water, and dust, very nice to have on your lens for protection.

Just picked up a new zoom lens (11-15mm Sony). Too expensive to risk not using a filter. This one works great. Clear, no interference or distortion for the photos. Will buy this brand again.

I bought it to mainly protect the lens. I'm not sure how well it works as a filter. The glass doesn't appear to be heavily coated like other UV filters I've seen. But this is $10 vs filters I've seen for $50+. There is UV filtering as I have done shots with it on and off of the same scenery and sky to try to see the difference.

My professional lens in too expensive to take the chance of getting scratches. The lens is great for protection.
