90W Smart AC Adapter for Select HP Laptops - Black

The adapter that I was using with my laptop would no longer charge the laptop's battery. I brought my laptop and my adapter to the Geek Squad, and a technician helped me determine that the problem was the adapter rather than the battery. The adapter that I ended up buying is identical to the one that the technician used to troubleshoot my problem. So far, it has worked well.

My dog decided he needed to chew up my laptop charger cord. Unfortunately, he chewed it too close to the adapter plug, and it was impossible to fix it. I looked online at BestBuy.com and found a suitable replacement. Fortunately, my local store had one left in stock. I ran over and got it, and it has worked great ever since. My biggest concern was the power rating for the replacement. I have seen so many undersized chargers, and was concerned that I might not find one that was rated high enough. Luckily, this one was actually rated for more wattage than the original, so I didn't have to worry about it overheating and burning up, which would happen with an undersized unit.

Always replace a cord with that specific name brand. If you don't and you buy a generic cord..... SOMETIMES they work and SOMETIMES they don't.... This one was a no-brainer...... Go with the HPF replacement and it works 100% of the time all the time!!! I work from home and have gone through numerous replacement cords for one reason or another....

My laptop cord adapter was on the HP recall list for defective cords that cause a fire hazard. When I ordered the "free" cord replacement from HP, it was not the right one and I was still without my computer after 5 weeks. So I went to the Geek Squad and explained my problem. They referred me to the adapter they had in store. It was great! After seeing on the box that it worked on my laptop, I bought it. Now my computer runs like a dream again and I'm not out the $150 that HP was going to charge me. I am very happy with this product!

This is a great power adapter. I temporarily lost the one that came with my laptop, so I was forced to buy a replacement. There were a few other "less expensive" ones, but the tips didn't fit and I wanted an HP one. Anyways, a few days later I found my first adapter, so now I have two. But this one from Best Buy came with a little extension to make it work with older HP models, which I use at work. One last item: it has higher wattage than my original adapter, so it charges my computer faster.

If you need a replacement or a secondary AC power adapter for one of the many HP laptops this unit supports you'll be very happy. The actual "block" is the same size or smaller than the original but the wires are longer giving you even more distance from the AC outlet. Because the laptop I owned was several years old I had to use the dongle. I just clicked it over the original laptop tip and it looks fine and connected quite securely. In a month's worth of dragging the adapter from place to place the dongle has remained attached.

The old laptop was doing very well until somebody ran over it and severed the cable. So the laptop having no power cord would lose battery power unless I could get a new charging cable. So I went to Best Buy talk to a technician and this is what he recommended went home took it out of the package plugged it in and Wala! It was charging like a champ! I would recommend this charging cord to anybody that has an old PC laptop.
