A good network backup for high bandwidth times.
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have a fairly good wireless network in my house but sometimes I have raid events where I play multiple characters simultaneously and having any network Lag can kill me; so I switch to cabled network for those times because it is more reliable than wifi and I don’t have to worry about many of the issues that wireless networks have that a wire doesn’t. I marked them low on the price because they are still pricing the cables 10000% over cost and they are 4.6 billion years old so it’s time the price comes down. I remember using old cat cables to strap my velociraptor to the hitching post at the saloon and you can buy a roll of blank cat6 cable that will go to the moon and back for $100 you just need the tool and a bag of male ends and you can make as many cables as you want but I only needed 2 cables so it wasn’t worth bulk prices (wife wouldn’t let me buy it) Anyway, the quality is good, the shielding is good, the online specs claim the wire is twisted copper so it’s better than aluminum. It has gold contacts at the male ends for superior connection and as the attached photo shows; I also attached a photo next to an Xbox One controller for scale, it has a protective cover to protect the locking clip if you have to pull it through a wall so it doesn’t get broken off and your cable ends up not able to lock into the network port and you have to do some janky tape job that collects dust and you invite a hot goth girl over to see your gaming set up and she sees your dusty sticky cable and points and laughs at you and you end up being an internet meme. Long story short don’t skimp on network cables or future generations will point and laugh at you.

Great Ethernet cable for better ps5 performance.
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Did my research in under 30 min. Went to Best Buy, bought this Ethernet cable and a wifi extender, the wifi extender has a Ethernet port and I connected this cable from that port, directly into the Ethernet port on the back of my ps5. Works flawlessly. Would buy again if I needed to. Used to lag when multiple people would be using the wifi, now I game crazy smoothly

Cable is legit
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I previously cheaped out and got a "cat6" cable off of ebay, only to find out that the conductors inside were neither twisted nor made of copper. That cable also could not be punched down into a keystone, so it was basically useless to me. I wish i had just spent the few extra dollars from the start and gotten this cable. The conductors are properly twisted inside to prevent interference, they are actually made of copper and i was able to easily punch them down into a keystone on my first try. The exterior insulation of this cable is also of significantly higher quality.

PERFECT for competitive gaming - 1000mbps
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This cable will do everything you need, up to the limit of your router. I’m getting ~1,000 mbps download speed, 0% packet loss, and ~14 ms delay (picture below). I use it to play Call of Duty Warzone on my Xbox series X, and it gives me a SERIOUS competitive edge. Highly recommended for gaming on PC, Xbox, or PS5

Q: QuestionShielded or Non-shieldWas needing to run this in walls. I've read I need shielding. Will this be suitable for the job? What are the perks with choosing cat6 over cat5e?
Asked by Erik.
- A:Answer These are two great questions and the exact same questions I had before making my purchasing decision. So I did some research and here's what I found: Shielding is really only necessary if you are around heavy electromagnetic interference, like power generators, magnetic resonance imaging scanners (MRI machines), and maybe a lot of high tension power lines. The disadvantage to shielded cable is that you're probably not going to be able to run them through your walls without removing some drywall. The shielding is not really flexible enough to run through a fire break and then do the 90 degree bend to come out of a small hole at the base of the wall. CAT5 vs CAT6 is almost a no-brainer. CAT5 is probably fine for all current applications but as technology improves, applications are requiring more and more bandwidth. If you want your cable to keep up with the increased demands of technology, you will want to go with the highest bandwidth supported, which means CAT6. If your bandwidth needs are limited and you're just trying to wire up a device because it doesn't support WiFi, CAT5 is fine. The reason I say it's a no-brainer, however, is that Best Buy sells the Insignia 50' CAT6 cable for $34.99 and the CAT5 cable for $29.99. Five bucks is a small price to pay to future proof your Ethernet.
