The Leica filters for the Leica R system are made of optically pure glass, parallel plane ground and precisely annealed, so as to retain the full performance of the Leica R lenses even when a filter is attached. The UVa filter protects the front element of the lens from physical damage and dirt, and can be left permanently attached.
