Save some money!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought the MagicJack as a way to get rid of my excessive phone bill for a home phone. It was pretty easy to install and setup. Porting the number over was done quicker than I was told during install. That was a good thing. I have used MagicJack with streaming TV and so far no dropped calls. Voices sound clear and easy to understand. It has many options that you setup online for your account including emailing your voice mail to you. It requires a network connection. Wireless would be nice, but I didn't need that option. I found the 911 setup a bit confusing, but MagicJack does a good job at explaining it, but 911 does need to be billed separately. The 911 separate billing is easy to do, pretty cheap for my area and all online. The MagicJack gets a bit warm which is not a real issue. The network LED lights are bright at night if you install it where someone sleeps or maybe just a cheap way to double up as a night light! My only surprise with the MagicJack is the caller ID shows the number only, not a name associated with it. There may be a way to program a name in, but I have not tried spent much time researching it. I have used MagicJack for about 2 months and so far so good.

Great service for the money
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am extremely happy with my Magic Jack. It saves a considerable amount of money and I can use a land line phone. It has not cut out on me. It has an annoying single beep during calls sometimes but it can be overlooked for the money. The set up was easy and I am not computer savvy. The customer service was a little difficult to deal with but overall a very good product. Paying full price for a phone line is foolish when you have a service like Magic Jack. I would recommend it.

What do you expect for the price?
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.MagicJack is easy to acquire and install. But be careful about all the add ons (transfer your existing line, other fees). You'd get gouged for similar fees by a regular phone company anyway. For the most part, the service is ok. Every once in a while a call will not come through and go straight to MJ voice mail. Also, when calling home through MJ, I will sometimes get one-way calls (I can hear my wife, but she can't hear me). For the reduced price versus the phone companies (really - what voice calls should cost anyway!), I guess these infrequent issues are ok. Another warning that is not on their website - the MJ does not support any security or call boxes that you might have in or around your home. If you wire these security/call boxes in line with the MJ, then the MJ will be 'off line' and you will receive no calls.

Works good at low cost if you have fast internet
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have read many complaints about this product but my experience so far has been good. Had no trouble with installation of two of these and both seem to be working fine. We had tried previously with 1 Mgbt/sec DSL connection and it would not work. Now we have 5 Mgbt/sec fiber optic connection and it works fine so far during the month that it has been installed both for phone and fax. Based on what I have read, the quality and speed of your internet connection makes a difference. Porting old number over to Magic Jack worked quickly and easily for a $20 additional fee. I don't trust it enough to use it for business yet, but for personal calling and faxing it works well enough. I am worried that call quality might not be reliable, but only have limited evidence of this so far.

Good call quality, good value
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It is a nice alternative with free anytime calling in the US with a low fee, however, if you are ever on the phone for longer than an hour the call may get dropped. To date the longest call I have had is 1 hr & 30 min. It very convenient when you are on hold for an hour with the IRS... Caller ID does not work if the phone is in use.

Not bad a little harder then I thought to install
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Its works well but the ad tells you no computer needed to use, You do need a router with high speed internet and before you can use this product you must register it That's right on the computer. But after registering and activating, it works very well.

Good money saver
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Saving 520 dollars a year from my phone bill. Also able to keep my phone number that I had for 2o years. Easy to set up and register. The unit has dropped a few calls since installing it. Was worth the saving though.
