Awesome Game!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This game brings back childhood memories. Always loved playing Mario Kart since its first installation on the N64. Now I play on the Wii U daily and I had to pick a copy of this up with the New Nintendo 3DS Limited Edition Black Friday, so I could take it with whenever I travel. Best of all the game was on sale so it was an easy decision. I would recommend this game if you're a Mario Kart fanatic like myself.

A solid, entertaining game, but flawed.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a solid entry in the Mario Kart franchise. The graphics are pretty solid for a 3DS game, not to mention that it looks great in 3D mode. This game has a lot of content for a game of this price, and I'm surprised they didn't charge a full $40 like they do with most major 3DS releases. The innovative feature of allowing you to customize your kart was much preferable to having a static car with set stats. However, thus game still has plenty of flaws. Unlike in Mario Kart Wii (a game released before it), this games doesn't have any bikes. While there were a few good "new" tracks, most of them were bland and weren't very memorable. When I played alone, I'd usually pick the "retro" stages because they were just simply more appealing. I enjoy the new underwater and glider features, but they were obviously a "first try" function, because both of these features feel too floaty (They fixed this in MK8). Speaking of which, the physics are wonky in this game. The heaviest characters can be easily pushed aside by lightweights. Most of my out-of-bounds falls were caused by being pushed. And when you do get pushed, it takes Lakitu WAY too long to rescue you. However, one thing they did get right was the Multiplayer. Instead of having a tiny split-screen, everyone has their own personal screen instead. Races with friends felt vigorous and intense. The Streetpass functionality was great, and I loved being able to play a hand-assembled Grand Prix of everyone I passed. Bottom line, this is a great, solid game, but I still have complaints about it. It's quite boring when you're alone, but it's awesome with friends. This game wasn't usually inside my DS, and I often played other games like Pokemon or Animal Crossing. If you want the true Mario Kart experience, then you could possibly buy the more expensive Wii U/Switch version. But if you're looking for a cheap game for someone with a lot of 3DS-using friends, then I would recommend this game for you.

Fun, but a little bare-bones.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The overall gameplay is pretty much the same a it has always been with MarioKart, so if you've played any iteration of the series, you'll be able to pick up and play right off the bat. It's a lot of fun, but the content is a bit lacking. There are 8 tournaments to race through, with 4 tracks in each. This brings the total number of tracks to 32, and most of them will have distinct feel to them. However, once you unlock all of the tracks, there's not much to keep you playing unless you have someone else to play with. You can spend time trying to unlock parts that you can use to customize your karts, but it doesn't effect much of the overall gameplay. With all of that said, it's still a lot fun, and perfect to have for those "itches" you get to have a quick race.

Fun game
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Ok I am a grandmother, so I bought the game originally for me, but my grandson liked it too, so he is getting this one for him for Christmas, so we can both play each other on Nintendo 3DS, he thought it was fun after I let him play mine. Who said you can't be a kid at heart, fun racing the characters, and different tracks. Grandparent time with the grandson.

As great as the good old days
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have been debating on whether to buy the Switch Console or just keep my 3DS for a while. Having bought this game made me decide to stick with the later. Nintendo games are just so nice wherever they're played at that Mario Kart 7 is as good as the playing it in the old days. There has been these hype to go back to the 90s with the Nintendo Classic, SNES Classic or move up to the latest Switch. Stick to the 3DS with Mario Kart 7, the 3D version of Super Mario 3D Land, the Classic Zelda games - like Ocarina of Time 3D and play those until you get bored - which you won't - until deciding to move down or up. I actually bought those 3 titles pretty much one after the other at Best Buy for somewhere around $75 bucks. That's one and a quarter of a Switch game and the 3DS ones are definitively worth every penny. If you're not an actual gamer who can dedicate more than 30 minutes a day (if you can even get 30 minutes), you can't go wrong with these. These are great games that will keep your inner kid happy for a while and take you back to the old days. I'm already planning to get the Super Mario Bros 2 - Golden Coins, and a couple of other Zelda games (including the last one). That will keep me happy for a while.

Great game for grandson.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Old school stand by. Can't go wrong. All ages can play. For grandson, but aunts and uncles remember how to play. You've just got to have this game in your bag. It is a very easy go to game for all ages. Love it. Best Buy stocks them all great people there.

Q: QuestionDo 3ds games work with a Nintendo 2ds device?
Asked by kdizzle.
- A:Answer Yup. All 3DS games work on 2DS systems with the exception of a few that are labeled “Only for NEW Nintendo 3DS XL”, like Xenoblade Chronicles or Binding of Isaac. If you get a New 2DS XL, all games WILL work. Also, the 3D functionality doesn’t work on 2DS systems, obviously.
