I don't know we thought this was going to be the greatest kitchen gadget ever. I saw so many good reviews on how people loved their pressure cooker that I went and searched for one and came across this one. I have nothing bad to say about this model or the way it performs. We have only used it twice and need a lot of practice. I guess my first point of confusion comes in with what do you do with this thing? I first put in a slab of brisket and used the labeled button that cooked it for 29 minutes. It cooked it alright but it was quite tough then I read somewhere the Pressure Cookers aren't the best for cooking meat. Then we made a rice dish and the instructions were completely off for cooking times/amt of water to add. This first try was very soupy so I had to run it another cycle which cause rice to stick all around the pot but we got it too work. When we looked for recipes, we just haven't come across many that really did anything for us. Again, I do love the look, feel, ease of operation, and easy cleanup. Just seem to find more use out of crock pot currently.

This is my first electric programmable pressure cooker. I picked a winner. I have made the BEST juicy beef & pork roasts, and a variety of chix dishes. I added the potatoes and carrots on top of the meat and everything was done perfectly. I love the delay start feature. I prepare the food for pressure cooker, set the delay start and forget it until it is time to eat. Even if we eat later than planned, the pot switches to a 'warm' setting The beef barley soup, and chicken potato soups were fantastic.. The 'brown rice' menu button is used for browning. I used some of the recipes included with the ELITE to get me started, but also purchased Bob Warden's Slow Fast Cooking, and Laura Sass Pressure Perfect. Since the Elite cooks with 12 psi, I can use most any pressure cooker recipe. On line pressure cooking yahoo group and Laura Sass' introduction taught me a lot about using a pressure cooker.

I can now cook a good meal after work without taking over an hour to have it ready. A frozen chicken breast ready to eat in less then 25 minutes. Very easy to use.
